"This is a real shame to have to review. This restaurant has a cute location and a slightly small, but cozy and nice interior. The good reviews made this a place I wanted to visit as a new resident in town. I have now eaten here twice, once as takeout and again today as a dine-in experience. Both times I have to say the food ranged from below average to genuinely quite poor. During my dining experiences, I ordered Mu Shu Pork, and Mongolian beef. As well as sides of fried rice and egg rolls. The eggrolls are good, peanutty and crispy. Easily as good as most Chinese restaurants, but a bit shy of Chens in Crystal Lake. The rice is perfectly good and average as you would expect for fries rice. The issue is that both main entree offerings I tried were almost inedible. The restaurant tastes like they are using a western cheap brown gravy mix for a lot of their menu items that not only is overly sweet, but lacks any semblance of Chinese food flavor. No taste of hoisin sauce, no sesame oil, no hint of soy or chili oil. It tasted mushy and overcooked and just not really... Like any version of Mongolian pork or Mu Shu I have ever had elsewhere. The most bizarre thing about this is that during my dine in visit today, I heard of the other dining groups in the restaurant with me were either sending back food or complaining about quality among themselves at the same time. I sat quietly and ate, because I was hungry, but the fact that I was not alone in this, matched with the good reviews tells me that this restaurant has recently cheapened it's menu, changed recipes... Something. Edit: Following contact from the restaurant owner regarding the review I do feel the responsibility to clarify that the service was wonderful and the send back I overheard was handled by the staff and I was asked if I was enjoying my meal and I am sure I would have had something else sent out had I requested. I am not one for conflict and opted not to do so because I had already eaten a portion of the food. I appreciate the fact that feedback does seem to be welcomed and taken to heart here. However my stance does stay firm that I was not happy with the entrees either time unfortunately, which I regret to have to say because I love a good Chinese takeout."

"The restaurant serves delicious and healthy food with friendly service. I enjoyed the Moroccan plate and ordered the volcano lasagna for lunch the next day, which reheated well. As someone who typically eats a omnivore diet, I appreciate having healthy vegetarian and vegan options here. Also, their vanilla strawberry cupcakes were amazing - not too sweet, very light, and flavorful."

"We were recently introduced to this restaurant during a motorcycle ride, followed by a family dinner. This place is absolutely fantastic! The service is quick and friendly. On our latest visit, our waitress went out of her way to make sure my little boy had a big smile on his face by bringing him some ice cream after a tough day. I didn’t catch her name, but I want to express my gratitude to this wonderful woman for brightening his day and for spending extra time with us, even though it was really busy. This is definitely a great spot to relax at the bar or enjoy a family dinner!"

"We had our Appreciation PAWty for our Retail Rockstars here last night! Everyone working there was polite, friendly and so helpful! The food...oh mah gosh the food!!! TJ, Bri and the rest of the kitchen staff did outstanding!We opted for a Taco Bar and we were beyond happy with what they provided! Warm tortillas, quesadillas, taco meat, a yummy chicken, refried beans, lettice, rice, cheese sauce, fajitas, salsa, pico, guacamole, shredded cheese, sour cream...I KNOW I am missing something.We brought a Tres Leche Cake for the team; we expected that to be the star of the night, but it was the Taco Bar!!Stop by on a Friday night for their Fish Fry too!"

"3/29/2022: Decided to try breakfast for the first time at Panera. My daughter and I both ordered the Chipotle Chicken, Scrambled Egg Avocado Wrap and the Madagascar Vanilla Lattes. Like my previous review, there was barely any chicken on these wraps. Still we agreed that the wraps were delicious and we would order them again. The lattes were decent enough, but we agreed we preferred the Madagascar Vanilla Iced Latte better. 2020: I was a fan of Panera from first bite so many years ago at the Kildeer/Deer Park location. Service and food was always spot on. I have been coming to the Woodstock Panera for the past few years. While the service itself has been pretty good, I have often ended up with cold food when ordering for pick up. Also, not sure if it is this location alone or all Paneras, but they really seem to skimp on the chicken on everything we order. Because of this, Panera is a bit pricey. I can get so much more food at Cafe Zupas for the same price...unfortunately there isn't a Zupas close by. Favorite Panera items: Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt, Toasted Frontega Chicken, Baja Chicken Bowl, Mediterranean Bowl with Chicken, Pastry Ring, Bear Claw, and Lemon Drop Cookies."
