"My friend Colin took me here for lunch during my Emeryville work days several years back and I 've been returning ever since to this special bistro. They do a fantastic lunch and brunch menu in that country-French style and I 've never been disappointed with a single dish. Their salads are fantastic, all unique and bursting with flavor and will leave you feeling satisfied. I love their version of the Eggs Benedict, the Hollandaise sauce is perfect and if you 're feeling indulgent, get a side of their Merguez sausage (it 's pretty good). Probably the biggest factor that tips the place over into the excellent category is the outdoor seating in their lovely patio/garden. La Note is my go to lunch place in Berkeley. Now I live in the Sacramento region, but I’m a Bay Area girl. I have friends that I meet for lunch sometimes only once a year but this is where we go. This is a wonderful little French restaurant that has a beautiful patio in the back, they are known for their great breakfast and their food staples, like a beautiful Nicoise salad. The pancakes are about the size of the plate – huge and lots of great buttermilk flavor. Big French cups of coffee or lattes are best enjoyed before your entree.
