"We visited the restaurant for a special occasion. We were a group of and of us had dietary requirements/allergies. We were easily accomodated and everyone had interesting substitutes when needed. The menu and food combinations were, for the majority, safe nothing felt...out of the box as far as fine dining goes. They were although very well executed and platted. No courses dissapointed. One of the courses, with tuna, was most likely one of the best tuna I have ever eaten what an exceptionnal, rich and fatty fish this was. Wine pairing was a great addition but when is it not ? We unfortunately felt let down by the actual service in this case glasses were poured, seconds of mumbled information about the wine and off he went. We were left 'thirsty for more information about the thought process behind the varied selection that had been made. Overall, I would recommend as an introduction to fine dining but do not think it is the most daring or intricate fine dining restaurant of comparable prices in Montreal."

"We had dinner at "Maison Boulud" on the evening of August 19. It was a beautiful night and we got to sit right by the duck pond on the back terrace of the restaurant. That was a perfect spot. I had asked for this when I made the reservation, but, the restaurant could not confirm that they would be able to accommodate my request. It was therefore a welcome surprise to get this fabulous table.The whole dinner experience was wonderful. Our hostess was charming and very nice and helpful. The sommelier was equally knowledgeable and his suggestions for white and red wines were perfect for the food we selected.Dinner was excellent. The portions were smallish which was perfect as we would have had to much to eat otherwise. The quality of the ingredients and the presentation were superb. The foie gras was to die for, as were the sweet breads. Dessert was light and tasty and the cappuccino at the end was one of the best I ever had in a restaurant.The bill was 4 was close to $800, but, all in all it was worth it.We'll go back for special occasions."

"Very poor management and overall philosophy. If you are going in a group of people and you are not interested the limited choices, over priced group menu, you better reconsider. They won’t accommodate their customers and ironically, they will leave you starve before they...accept to let you choose from the regular menu. The restaurant was half empty and we were people filling that half among others. I offered that I would take the empty table on the side, by my self, so I could, just like any other customers, choose from the regular menu. Amazingly, the answer was no, sorry, we can’t do that. Completely illogical and insulting. I stayed because it was my friend birthday, otherwise, I would have left. If you are paying +tx /person for a meal only, the minimum expectation is to be able to choose what you want to eat and enjoy the meal. They do not have a philosophy and an attitude that would be expected from an higher end restaurant as they attempt to present themself. Montreal has many wonderful restaurants that will host you like you deserve."

"This evening I opted for Toqué’s seven-course tasting menu, and while the service was nothing short of exceptional, the experience unfortunately fell flat where it mattered most—the food. I wanted to love Toqué so badly, and I was excited to see if the restaurant lived up to its reputation. To be clear, It’s not that the ingredients were bad. They were fine—perfectly average, even. But we came expecting culinary fireworks, and instead, it was more of a damp sparkler moment. The dishes were neither memorable nor particularly flavorful, leaving little to linger on the palate or in our minds. For a tasting menu at this price point, we anticipated an experience that would excite and surprise, but instead found ourselves with courses that were forgettable and uninspired. Not a single course left me wow’d and despite the modest portion sizes, many of the plates left our table largely untouched. The flavors just didn’t inspire the kind of enthusiasm that draws you back for that next bite, and ultimately, it spoke volumes about the disconnect between expectation and execution. Montreal is overflowing with incredible food, and I’ve long believed it can hold its own against some of the best food cities around the world. With that in mind, I couldn’t help but feel a little deflated. There are so many gems in this city that bring creativity, heart, and an actual punch of flavor—Toqué just didn’t do Montreal any justice tonight."

"After a long day we decided to go to the Keg for dinner as it was directly across from our hotel. We were seated right away and our drink order came quickly but after that our sever became very distant and it took half an hour for her to come back to take our food order. She would check in on the surrounding tables but completely ignored us even after repeated attempts to catch her attention and we all made direct eye contact a few times. Our menus were even closed and off to the side so there was no confusion. A table that got sat 20 minutes after us had their meals by the time we got our bread basket! After that hiccup and our order finally taken things were fine again, we got our food soon after and everything was cooked nicely. It was a very odd start though and very unusual for the Keg."
