"After eagerly anticipating our meal at Rip's for months, we were unfortunately very disappointed. We visited for a late lunch/early dinner and the entire experience fell short of our expectations. While our server was attentive, he lacked any warmth or personality. We were celebrating our anniversary, and despite it being noted on our reservation, none of the staff acknowledged it. The food was mediocre at best, and that's being generous. The shrimp had an overwhelming fishy taste, as if it hadn't been properly prepared. The asparagus was bland, and the chocolate tart tasted like a cheap frozen dessert from the grocery store. The bar was the only area of the restaurant that seemed busy, which left us puzzled about the poor quality of the food. We won't be returning and certainly cannot recommend this place."

Such great food...The wine list needs a little help..but the food and atmosphere were amazing..we will go back soon...Our server was attentive but not irritating everything was done correctly my date was impressed as well

Took friends from out of town and the 'fresh drum ' tasted like frozen drum. Not just my dish but my friends dish also. Oh well, stick to the friend food as they do a good job. The raw oysters were very good and drinks were good also.

Really enjoyed all of the food and the ambiance. The buster crab appetizer with crab meat is just outstanding. The crabs with poached eggs and hollandaise were excellent as were the shrimp and grits. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Madison-Mandevile-Covington triangle. The view is unbeatable from the large porch overlong the Ponchartrain. The food has always been good, seasoned perfectly. Seafood or steaks, you can't go wrong. The staff has always been great and attentive. On this trip we had sautéed Crab claws and royal red shrimp (Excellent) Ribeye and shrimp, and key lime pie.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Madison, Mandeville, and Covington area. The view from the lovely veranda overlooking Lake Pontchartrain is unbeatable. The food has always been excellent, perfectly seasoned, whether you choose seafood or steak—you can’t go wrong. The staff has consistently been very attentive. On this visit, we enjoyed stuffed crab claws and royal red shrimp (both were excellent), along with a ribeye steak and shrimp cake.
