"Shucks was a fun atmosphere to eat. People are very friendly and friendly. The owner of Shucks came to our table and asked how the food was and whether we needed anything. This is first-class service! The food is fabulous! We had crabcakes for appetizers and it was so big that we couldn't eat anything. The crab cake was different from any other crab cake I tasted, there were no Mayonaisse in the recipe. We had fried shrimps and French fries for our entrees. The butterfly shrimps were dipped into a golden dough and roasted to crispy perfection. Fries were well seasoned and roasted to a golden brown. We had so much food left to eat that we had to get a dog bag. I'm going back most definitely!! I recommend Shucks The Louisiana Seafood House for your next culinary experience."

"This seafood restaurant is simply exceptional! We always try to arrive early to indulge in drinks and appetizers at the charming bar. The hostess starts taking names for the waiting list at 4 PM, and we make it a point to sign up so we can be seated in the first wave at 5 PM. Whether you choose boiled seafood, fried seafood, or any other dish from the menu, you can count on a fantastic dining experience! The crawfish are remarkably large! I doubt any other restaurant can compete with the quality of food offered here."

"Dupuy's Seafood Steak has been in business since 1869! You don't have a 150 year old restaurant unless you have mastered the business of serving Cajun Seafood to generations of happy customers. Seafood is certainly the star attraction at this Abbeville eatery located on the banks of the Vermillion River. They are known for their fresh oysters, whose shells pave much of their parking lot. These are available in many forms, but for the best experience I think you have to go with them raw on the half-shell. Shrimp is also a gulf favorite, and can be had several ways. Crawfish is also nice, especially when available boiled in season. Then there are the many types of fin fishes... However, steaks and other Cajun fare are also on the menu. Gumbo is not to be missed, and they have some spectacular salads for a lighter meal. Po-Boys are great here, if you are looking for a sandwich-centered meal. I usually am in Abbeville at lunchtime, so I save some and get a wider variety by just ordering whatever is the lunch special of the day. This varies from day to day and week to week, but is always excellent. Last time I stopped in it was Seafood Quesadillas with a Side Salad, which included lots of shrimp and crawfish! Amazing, and only about ten dollars. Service is always great, and the interior is comfortable and inviting. I really can't speak to the dessert, as I have never had room for any."

"The fresh oysters brought back wonderful memories; they were incredible and tasted as if they had just been pulled from the water. The stuffed crab was pleasantly spicy, and the corn and crab chowder had great flavor, perfect with the crackers provided at the table. A delightful surprise was the po' boy sandwich, half shrimp and half oysters. It was a delicious treat—fresh and flavorful, and you could choose to have it on a soft roll. This place is definitely one of my favorites for fresh or fried oysters!"
