"Didn’t get a chance to experience the food. We drive an hour and a half to get there. Restaurant was empty except for one patron. Asked to use their restroom and was told you have to order and pay first because the restrooms were for paying customers only. Their policy was repeated by the gentleman (perhaps the other owner) behind the counter, albeit a bit more politely. Which would be understandable except it’s sometimes difficult to wait. Nevertheless tried to convince the lady (perhaps the owner) that we were indeed staying and ordering evidenced by calling half an hour ahead, but were refused the use of their bathroom bra cause so many people had not ordered in the past. On principle we left. Rhinebeck is abundant with great restaurants with far better attitude, which ultimately is part of any dining experience. After all customers are paying and thus deserve reasonable respect and accommodations."

This little place has the best burger and fries I have ever had. NYC steakhouse quality burger, seasoned to perfection, and serves with a huge helping of hand cut, tender inside/crispy outside fries.

This was a lovely , little local place. The owners work there every day and were a pleasure to talk to. It is a little expensive but the food quality is good. It was small but there was indoor and outdoor seating. It is decorated rustically and was very homey, warm and inviting. The brownie that we got for a snack was amazing!

Great little cafe. Super cozy inside, nice little outdoor area eating area as well (all though there is some traffic noise) The meatloaf sandwich was delicious and quite the portion. Definitely worth a try. I also got a peanut butter chocolate cookie to go which was gigantic and quite dense. That was a nice treat. The staff were super friendly and helpful, clearly happy to be there. Visualizza piatti

I visited this restaurant for the first time and absolutely loved its eclectic atmosphere. I had the pleasure of meeting Sam Cohen, the owner, and instantly felt a connection - she could be my new best friend! My friends and I ordered burgers, fries, and fried chicken, which we simply couldn't resist. The burgers and fries were amazing, but I'm not sure if Sam made the delicious fried chicken - either way, it was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. I will definitely be coming back regularly to this fantastic spot.

The burger was delicious, but the woman at the register (wearing black-rimmed glasses) was extremely rude. When we asked if she could refill my reusable water bottle as paying customers, she refused and directed us to the bathroom. Later, when my husband tried to purchase water, she declined because he only had a card and there was a minimum purchase requirement. This was after we had already paid and finished our meal. This is not how you should treat paying customers, so we will not be coming back. Additionally, her book on the counter did not seem very appealing to me.

This restaurant is adorable, situated on the side of the road, and we decided to try it based on the great reviews. The server was very friendly, and my son's sugar cookie was delicious. However, I was disappointed to pay $19 for an avocado BLT with overcooked bacon that tasted terrible. Even if the bacon had been cooked perfectly, the price is way too high. I only took one bite and couldn't eat any more. The $8.50 generic hot dog was nothing special, comparable to Dairy Queen. Despite the positive reviews, we did not have a good food experience here. Many reviews mention the high prices, and we agree. I would recommend avoiding this place. Visualizza piatti

Great food but the service was s-l-o-w and poor. You just order at a counter, so I never expected the food to take nearly an hour to come out. 40 minutes after ordering I politely asked when they thought it would be ready given we had kids that were well past mealtime. They tersely responded they make their food fresh and it takes a while and there were a lot of orders ahead of ours. Mind you, the place was empty. The guy came out and repeated this to us in a snippy way, totally unprompted, a few minutes later. Nearly an hour after ordering, we finally got our burgers and fries. No apology, no offer to get the kids ' food out sooner. It was good, but not worth the wait or the poor service.

As soon as you pull up to this quaint little spot, you know it’s going to be good. Whether you were tipped off by the usually packed parking lot, or the incredible meaty smell emanating from the most adorable cottage, you’re probably going to start salivating by the time you reach the door. Inside is just as you’d expect simple, yet filled with comforting local goodies in a warm and rustic setting. Outside there are several different choices for seating with flowers and shrubs lining the perimeter for some privacy. Now... the food. This was by far the freshest beef I’ve ever tasted, seasoned and cooked to perfection, with toppings so crisp I was left pinching myself and wondering if it was a...

"Had brunch here, celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary. Saw the menu ahead of time and looked good but no big expectations. Love when I'm wrong: food was delicious, everything from the omelet to the mimosas to the coffee after. I'm also a sucker for good service; been to many a fine dining space as a New Yorker, and I could take it or leave it honestly. More at home in a dumpy dive bar with solid music, good folks, minus weird dudes, and sweet bartenders. I dont take good service (more than moving quickly and getting orders accurate) for granted. The server who takes time they dont have working a station busy full of folks during their shift to help make your experience really wonderful, more than notable. I usually ask for a name to give thanks personally, but distracted with love today; good service, on top of a good cocktail, that's when I go back to a spot. And when you get enough of the junk, you recognize and appreciate when you get the absolute opposite in being treated well. Our server was personable, attentive, funny, accomodating, had a really chill easy vibe, natural in the chat and laughter (coulda been a neighbor or community out and about stopping thru with a hey whats good) plus the whole good service joint. We also messed up our reservation, and were quickly given a table anyway. Thanks Amsterdam, appreciate yall. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"I visited this restaurant twice, once on a busy weekend night and once on a slower weekday night. I had not ordered from this restaurant since it moved from an earlier location just south of the village. I had not eaten at the new location right in the heart of the Village of Rhinebeck. This restaurant currently offers many items that are vegan or can be made vegan on request! As of now, problems exist with conflicts between the printed menus available in the restaurant, the menu on the website [hidden link] , and the online take out order site. The restaurant uses V for Vegan and AV for Can Be Adjusted to Vegan. The printed in restaurant menus appear inaccurate, with many fewer items listed as V or AV. I have asked members of the wait staff, and they assure me that all but two of the items in the Vegetable Dishes entree section of the printed menu are either V or AV. These include many interesting regional dishes. The vegan Tomato Rasam soup was spicy and delicious. One bit of bad news was that the restaurant was not serving quinoa—an alternative grain on the menu either night. I have abandoned rice as a food that is likely to contain environmental toxins. So, I ordered Indian whole wheat bread to eat with my main dish each time. On Night 1, the pan grilled Chapati was too stiff and thin. On Night 2, the tandoori baked Roti worked brilliantly in the role of a sauce absorber and texture and flavor complement—delicious. On the main dishes, both curries were strong in veggie content. The most veggie packed was my second night entree, Sabzi Bahaji. This Bengali dish included at least cauliflower, red onion, green peas, potatoes, carrots, and garbanzo beans. The restaurant was not able to honor my reservation the first evening, but I may have inadvertently reserved seating for two. I am not sure who was at fault. I was seated in a nice outdoor two person table after a bit of a wait. The restaurant was packed, and other diners were standing on the sidewalk waiting. My reservation on the weekday night worked perfectly. The main dishes were around 15 16, my whole wheat bread options cost 4, and the soup was 6. So, the price rating seems reasonable to me. As an Indian cuisine fan, I very much enjoyed the food. The wait service was great, though it was stretched on the busy weekend night. The setting and interior of the restaurant were nice. I hope to be back soon. Updated from previous review on 2021 06 22"
