"My new favorite place for Wine in Independence! Owner Savannah is a knowledgable and welcoming host and always has an interesting bottle or two . . . or six, open to sample. I appreciate her unpretentious approach to exploring wine. We tasted Oregon wines and imports from around the world, enjoyed some wine by the glass, and bought bottles for dinner later. The space was formerly part of a Lodge of some Fraternal Organization, and has that fun eclectic vintage vibe with a gold-flecked zig-zagging bar, classic barstools, assorted couches and lounge chairs, fireplace with taxidermy bison atop, suit of armor, candelabras, etc.The kitchen was not currently operating, but check in before you visit to see if that is changed, or if you can still bring in outside food. There are plenty of places nearby you can order takeout from.Put the Valkyrie on your must visit list for Independence and buy some wine!"

What a lucky town to have such a cool wine bar! It's a great place to try and buy wine! Good price points if all kinds, and the owner is super knowledgeable as well! It's a cool spot I travel to for some good ambiance, conversation, and some good wine! Visualizza piatti

We got the complimentary wine tasting on Friday night then choose a bottle to go with our tacos from the food truck down the street. It was great to be able to bring food in, since they currently don’t offer any. Service was great and I would highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience. There is a large assortment of wines from across the world to choose from. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave us complimentary tastings and helped us hone in on what we wanted. The building is large and uniquely styled. I would highly recommend checking out this hidden gem.

No longer a restaurant. Amazing free wine tasting experience Friday and Saturday 12-8. Beautiful international selection. Sales by the glass or bottle on site or bottle retail sales. The owner Savannah will take the time to help you explore wines and find those personal favorites. An every Saturday stop for me and my bestie! Visualizza piatti

We spent the weekend in Independence and stumbled on the Valkyrie. One of the best wine tasting experiences I've ever had. Savannah, the proprietor, provided a fun and informative tasting experience that lacked any pretentiousness. We bought some interesting wines and really enjoyed ourselves. We had so much fun we went back the second day and she was serving a completely different selection of wines.

Afternoon adventurers of Oregon! I had the pleasure to visit Oregon with 'Savannah', the owner of The Valkyrie Wine Tavern. What a beautiful place with great nostalgia and a delicious selection of wines for every special event in life. Savannah is not only another pretty face, but a passionate woman about her love for quality wines. I don't know the correct terminology of the wine components, but Savannah sure does everything I know I like to drink red wine!

"Worst service ever! As we walked to the podium to check in, the hostess took a phone call and we were forced to stand there for several minutes (long enough for four people to try to get by us, because their hosting stand is placed in the worst possible location). Once the phone call was over, we gave our name and the hostess looked at her book for some time, highlighting various things before finally showing us to the table. It was approximately 20 minutes before a waitress came and took our drink order. She took our dinner order and we ordered an appetizer of bread service, because they charge for that, which we never received. I had to eat some snacks from my purse because I was starving, and we considered leaving, but our food finally came as we were standing up to leave, about 30-35 minutes after ordering. Our food was only OK, not disgusting, but not particularly noteworthy, certainly not worth the exorbitant prices. We were provided butter knives to cut our meat! We wolfed down our food as we were starving by this time, and our waitress never returned. My husband went to the bathroom and ran into the waitress and asked for our check. She said she would be right there, but, par for the course, never returned, so we went to the front and were told that she had to leave because of a family emergency. We were to believe that in the time it took for my husband to use the bathroom, about 2 minutes, she received the news that she had a family emergency, decided she had to leave precipitously, communicated with the other staff the remaining needs for her tables, and left. My husband forgot to check if we were charged for the bread service because we were in such a hurry to leave, but I am sure that the charge was tacked on. I would not be surprised if there was also a charge for the water. Just a dismal experience, would not recommend unless you really enjoy terrible service and mediocre food. If that 's your jam, this place is for you!"
