The food was excellent, but the service could have been better. I suspect that it's because I arrived an hour before closing. View menu

This place is a hidden gem! If you haven't visited yet, now is the perfect time. Although it may not look like much from the outside, the ambiance is fantastic for a date night, and the food is absolutely phenomenal. The portion sizes are just right, leaving you plenty of space for dessert. We will definitely be returning! View menu

This restaurant is a Houston landmark. It's small and cozy, and intimate. The food is so authentically Italian and high quality. The gelato was even better than what I have ever had in Italy. Everything is fresh and homemade. The chef/owner Mr. Boada is so personable and welcoming to his guests. Dining here makes for a very special evening.

Delicious, home-made everything; from bread to gelato! It was such a pleasure to spend the evening at Arturo’s. I enjoyed his food at Solero’s many years ago and was so glad to reconnect with his delicious cuisine and unique ability to make you feel at home! My husband, teenage kids, and I enjoyed the food and Arturo’s company. My youngest son said that was the best time we have ever had at a restaurant! Thank you Arturo!

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
