My wife and I really like Avery's. The food is great and we always seem to meet up with family or friends there. So far I have tried their seafood plate and their po-boy's. I can tell you that the food is fantastic and the service is great. You are welcomed when you arrive and thanked when you depart. If you are looking for great food and New Orleans kindness, then Avery's is the place to go. Try it out, you will like it.

Averys is by far one of the best surprises a local can find. The buffalo shrimp with crumbled bleu cheese has made me return over and over. The gumbo is excellent and even the French bread is perfectly light, crisp and fluffy with the right amount of salted butter. I frequent some of the highest ranking restaurants in the city regularly and Avery's is every bit as good as a Brennan family restaurant. The more attractive price is just lagniappe.

I visited this restaurant last night for a group gathering, and the food was amazing! The honey biscuit was perfect, and the mushrooms with sauce were delicious. The drum fish topped with BBQ shrimp was absolutely fantastic—I couldn't leave a single bite behind! I also tried turtle soup for the first time, and it exceeded my expectations. I have used Avery's on Tulane for our facility lunch meetings on 3 occassions. Often times it is difficult to find a place where the food, quality, and service is consistent. Thank you so much for all that you do to help with our catering needs. You have been on time and the food hot. Our folks just love your food!!! Who wants a cold sandwich when you can have a warm po-boy or structured salad! I really appreciate the extra service you provide to us. Definately will be back!! Thank you Christi and Justin!

Avery's restaurant deserves far more than just 5 stars; it's truly outstanding. There isn't a single item on the menu that disappoints—everything is delicious. My personal favorite is the seafood gumbo; it's honestly the best I've ever tasted and has been voted the best in New Orleans for good reason! They also serve a fantastic breakfast and brunch, and those honey biscuits are simply divine. Whenever my family visits, Avery's is always at the top of our list. Treat yourself and give Avery's a try; it's a hidden gem!

I visited New Orleans for three reasons: first, to pick up my grandnieces and take them back to their dad; second, to see my old workplace at 4400 Dauphine Street, which I was sad to find hasn’t recovered since 2005; and third, to enjoy a shrimp Po'Boy that would remind me of the ones I loved in 1993. After looking through various restaurant reviews, I chose Avery's, and I’m so glad I did. It surpassed my memories from 1993 by a long shot—the flavors were outstanding!
