All around great BBQ. Affordable too. Tender brisket and chicken. The sauce is tasty and all the sides are homemade( you can easily tell the difference in this case) ill go back for sure.

Best BBQ I've had in a long time. Baked potato with chopped beef was perfect. The potatoes are pretty good size. Good enough to share. They have other items than BBQ on the menu. Good for kids!

Loved the brisket. Like best I 've ever had. Couple of things….. liked the personal bottles of warm BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes are nice and rustic and the portions are perfect for the price. My family of 5 all made the same comment 'I 'm stuffed. ' If they keep the same recipes, same portion size, don 't alter the prices, and stay true to the Texas atmosphere; this place will be here to stay! I 'm gonna be a loyal customer for years to come. I love a good BBQ joint so that I and the Fam decided they had for lunch today they had a great menu and some good options were also not super expensive in my opinion, we tried the loaded baked potato for my son then my wife had Chicken Fried Steak, and I had the 3 Meat Platter.... the food was good except these ribs.... had to take back my 1st order because they were hard and dry. its as they use the Charring method on all meat and that makes it tasting slightly burned.... I can go back but no bands for me

Great BBQ and live music with the coldest beer.. Great atmosphere at Back Forty Smokehouse. I tried a three meat plate and while I usually am a huge rib fan, I sometimes judge on brisket as I believe most bbq joints just don't try very hard. The brisket was an excellent moist cut with nice dark edges, just the way I like it.<br/ <br/ Good sides and really freakin' cold beer in a giant mug. I would seriously consider stopping by if you are in the area especially on live music night out on their giant patio under the pecan trees.

Disappoint. I ordered the loaded baked potato (or whatever they call) to go with brisket. It was ready when I arrived. After arriving at my destination and opening the plate... There were no utensils or napkins. Then I saw that the potato was not cut open either. The toppings were all provided in separate small containers. While there was a lot of brisket, the butter and the sour cream lacked due to the size of the potato. For my personal taste the potato was a bit hard, underdone, but the soil was scratched. And not enough butter or sour cream, it led to a dry potato. No good experience. View menu

This is an old building that was a feed store, so it is pretty rustic inside, but very clean. The serving line was staffed with 3 guys that were very friendly and attentive to what you wanted. My wife and I had the sliced brisket sandwich, he got a fresh one for our sandwiches. We also got sides, coleslaw potato salad and fried okra. Okra was hot as cooked to order. Coleslaw was perfect and potato salad was chunky. Brisket was plastic fork cutting tender. Sauce on side. One team member came by our table twice to make sure all was good. Great patio for outdoor eating. Restrooms were clean. The high point was the friendliness of team members. We enjoyed and recommend you go.

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of family while we were out visiting. This smokehouse is easily the best example of Texan BBQ we have ever had! We got the Brisket Grilled Cheese and the Burger with Ranch Beans, Jalapeño Mac Cheese, and Mashed Potatoes. The meat was as tender as could be and the sauces were incredibly delicious (we definitely recommend the spicy BBQ sauce over the regular). The service was also spectacular. The chef came to our table and asked how we liked the food, and shared some insight into how the food was prepared as well as some of his inspirations. We felt very valued as guests and loved our experience. Food, service, and Texan atmosphere make this place...

A 4.8 rating for sure! Very clean cozy rustic dining area. I was surprised to see that there was also a full bar available with some great spirits on hand, not just the run of the mill stick at that! Marvelous fork tender brisket that doesn’t just fall entirely apart (an important point for me, personally) very flavorful jalapeño pork sausage while not being punishing on the spicy side of the palate. The spicy BBQ sauce had a wonderful balance of sweetness to it that was not quite the level of heat I was looking for, but managed to fit the bill the meats very well.
