I absolutely loved it! The room was very nice and comfortable, and we had a beautiful view from our room. We also dined at the café, and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends!

I truly enjoyed my stay. The room with its view of the water was enchanting. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The food was outstanding, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Great location. The hotel is older but well-maintained. I was about to give it a high cleanliness rating until we discovered someone else's unpleasant underwear under the luggage rack. Would I stay here again? Probably not, as the cleaning staff should have spotted that if they had done a proper cleaning between guests.

What a wonderful place! We found ourselves in a bit of a bind when our van got stuck in reverse during our vacation and needed a place to spend the night. My son and I are spending a few days in the Upper Peninsula to visit my alma mater (Go Huskies!) and explore the Copper Country before school starts. Hotel prices in Houghton are quite high, but we were fortunate to find the Lakeside Inn. While the room isn't overly spacious, it's comfortable enough for two queen beds, a table, a dresser, and a mini fridge/freezer along with a microwave. The room is impressively CLEAN. I frequently travel for work and stay at all the major hotel chains, and I've noticed that cleanliness often falls short even in pricier hotels. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit.

The only reason I didn’t give this place one star is that the hot tub and sauna were fantastic after a long drive. However, after spending over 20 hours on the road, checking in around 10 PM, and being woken up at 6:45 AM to the sounds of hammering, staple guns, and table saws was quite unpleasant. I understand the renovations will make the place look nice and updated once they’re finished, but it would have been considerate to inform guests during check-in that they would be hearing construction noises early in the morning. We had planned to stay another night, but now we think we'll look for a quieter spot to enjoy our vacation!

After dinner, they assured us that the situation would be addressed. When we returned, the room was cleaned up, looking and smelling great! We also received a rebate, and the staff was very apologetic. I just wish everything had gone more smoothly so we could have taken full advantage of the amenities. The hot tub seemed lovely, but I was too exhausted by that point to enjoy it. In the morning, we planned to have breakfast but were overlooked when it came to seating ourselves, as we were told to let them know when we sat down.
