"This is an upscale Italian restaurant right on the sidewalks of Chicago. It’s an easy review to write when everything was top notch. They got us right in on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was so pleasant. Appetizer came out so fast. Didn’t have to wait long for the entree. So good. The ambiance is nice. We sat at a table inside, but right inside some French doors that open up to the sidewalk. It was so refreshing. The soundtrack of easy listening jazz standards really added to the experience to me.The food was excellent. I thought about giving the food four stars instead of five. But I think my palette just isn’t used to this level of authentic Italian. I could tell that all the ingredients were fresh and prepared with care.Couldn’t have asked for better service. It was a wonderful meal after a day at the zoo."

Fresh food, fantastic service, great open dining. We loved all of our dishes: butternut squash ravioli, veggie sandwich and linguini carbonara. Chef's kisses all around

The food was amazing. The servers were helpful and friendly. It was a great value; they serve large portions. The dog-friendly patio was beautiful. They bring out delicious free bread while you wait for your food. We LOVED it!

I had my wallet stolen while dining in this establishment and the owner did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. paid for an over priced meal, had my belongings stolen, and never even apologized or said sorry. Do Not Go here. View menu

Solid selection of reasonably priced pasta and filling appetizers. An extremely fresh Pesto was a particularly standout along with the steaming dinner rolls. If dining outdoors during the summer, beware of spiders.Vegetarian options: Solid mushroom pasta

This is a fantastic restaurant! The food is excellent and the menu always has options for people with different tastes (i.e., vegetarian or meat lover) or dietary restrictions (i.e., gluten-free). And if you get a chance to dine in, the decor and staff are lovely. I highly recommend.

Delicious salad and yummy Chicken BLT. Homemade chips were great, but could have used a dip, or even ketchup. Fresh buns with Olive Oil dip were amazing! We sat outside at a pleasant sidewalk table and enjoyed the vibe of the neighborhood.Service was a bit slow, but the waiters were very nice. I’d go back if I lived closer! View menu

I always passed by this place thinking it was way out of my price range and honestly for the quality the price is good. I had the chicken marsala linguine and it was soo delicious I had to finish it all. The chicken was tender and juicy and I didn't need to add any salt to the pasta dish. Our waiter was great but the busser was amazing, he was everywhere staying busy and accommodating all of us constantly. The ambience was very relaxed and it was quiet compared to many other italian restaurants.

Recommend: the pasta dishes were great, really enjoyed the linguine carbonara and the tortellini prosciutto. Also, would recommend the bees knees cocktail. I was was looking forward to try the braised octopus appetizer but unfortunately after trying it cannot recommend something about the flavour did not go well for it, I think the sauce was to thin and acidic, maybe for my party's taste. The service was nice, the vibe overall was okay inside, feel like needs a bit of refreshment. Overall though I enjoyed most of my meal and drink and will be back to try other dishes.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
