"So fortunate and thankful to have Mary's here in Birchwood, pop 402! We started spending our summers here about 4 years ago and Mary's has been a constant since then. They have a small menu, but I've eaten most of it at this point and it's all good. Reasonable prices and very friendly service. The breading on their curds is so light that they're one of my favorite versions. You see, in WI curds can be a litmus test for a restaurant: My favorite dish is not on the menu and if I tell you what it is, you might start asking for it and they might stop making it. For that reason, I will share that my current on menu favorite is a half a hot beef. Bread, roast beef, mashed potatoes, and gravy YUM!!! Would I return? Yes, I have about 50 times now lol Would I recommend? Yes but only if it doesn't ruin the place's charm"

We met Mary at our first time visiting Mary's Bluegill Bar Grill. The Friday Fish Fry was the best! We loved the light beer batter! We'll be back!

Food! Service! Bar!!! Friday night fish fry! Lobster Bisque! Rueben's are the best! Mary walks around to make sure everyone is doing well. Recently remodeled!

Lengthy wait to get midday Friday fish fry dinner. Bluegill and coleslaw was good but wild rice side bland and underwhelming. Service fair. Clean spacious setting. Have to pay with cash only which I think is a pain.

Blue Gill bar is a total knockout! BEST. BARTENDERS. EVER!! Made our bachelorette party unforgettable!! And the only place you can try the famously delicious shots Brenda's Beaver and Morgan's Dirty Panties. 5 stars all the way View menu

This restaurant is lovely. Every time we have visited, we have been seated in the back dining area, so unfortunately I have not been able to experience the bar. We have tried their taco night and spaghetti night dishes, both of which come in generous portions. The service is friendly.

Great local spot. Anthony the bartender really keep the place lively. Eaten there several times and the food is always good, service is good as well. Cheeseburger is good, but the hot beef is excellent. It's the kind of place where you go when you just want a beer dinner. Nothing fancy, just good.

Pretty sure I'm a regular at this point and absolutely love having this place so close! Sure hope we can still get in (probably on the early side) when the crowds roll in. Can't imagine missing my regular green bean (or curd) appetizer followed by broiled walleye and a baked potato that goes home for another day. Love it! View menu

I have lived in the Birchwood area for 5 years and had never dined at this restaurant until today. Despite having a limited menu, the food was top-notch; fresh and skillfully cooked. The value for the quality of the dishes was outstanding. I'm amazed at how they manage to stay in business with such affordable prices. Today happened to be Taco Tuesday, and the Tex-Mex options were fantastic. We are definitely looking forward to trying their fish fry on Fridays.

My husband, some friends, and I have been traveling from Chicago to Birchwood to visit a friend for a few years now. We always make a point to stop at Mary's because of the friendly staff and customers, the wide variety of drinks, and the delicious food. Mary's also has pool tables, slot machines, and video poker for entertainment. If you're lucky, you might even get to chat with Mary herself, who is a lot of fun! There's always a character in the bar, but they're always enjoyable to be around. If you find yourself in Birchwood or passing through, make sure to stop at Mary's for a drink and some food. Don't miss out on their fantastic fish fry on Fridays! You won't regret it.

"I was very excited to finally try Paul's Pizza Den. We've driven by many times on our way to and from other locations in the area but never had the pleasure of stopping but today was our day! Atmosphere: Cozy and cabin-esqe. Service: Servers were friendly. But ordering, receiving food and beverages, etc. was so incredibly slow. Our server never came back to see if we were ok on drinks or to ask how the food was tasting. I had to flag the server down to get a water. And I swear when the bill came she just threw it down and ran off. Food: We ordered an Antipasto salad to start. It was large enough to share and thought it tasted really good as we devoured the whole thing. For pizza, it was hard to choose because 1. All of the pizzas have the most adorable names like Panda Bear and the Hula Bear 2. All the pizzas had toppings we enjoy. So we decided on the Blazin Bear. As the name implies it has some spicy toppings like banana peppers and jalapenos that give it a little kick along with sausage, mushrooms and olives. We ordered a medium to share which was more than enough for 2 people. The toppings on the pizza were a good combination. The structure of the pizza left something to be desired. The outer edges were crispy but the bottom center of the pizza was not. It was more soggy than crisp. Now it could be because of the toppings, too many or too watery toppings can cause that. But I'm not certain and was just disappointed by this. Overall great tasting pie but could be a little crispier. Even though the service and pizza had some flaws, I will return to the Paul's to eat. I love pizza and will chalk these issues up to a busy Saturday night with a small staff. Certainly it's worth a second stop to try another pie!"
