"Bonchon is a fairly new restaurant in the Sugar Land area, opening in fall of 2017, but I finally visited April 2018. Not sure why I waited so long, guess I just had to be in the mood for Korean chicken? Service was a mixed bag. I didn’t eat in, so I cannot attest to the table service personally. I did run into other coworkers who were dining in and they said their service was fine. For the to-go counter, I entered and was greeted immediately. I told them I wanted to place a to-go order; they politely told me they’d be right with me, and I saw they were processing payments from about five tables, so I wasn’t too bothered. However, the greeter/cashier went to the tables to hand them their receipts, rather than giving the checks to the server, so that added about five minutes to my wait. Another person came up after I started pacing [impatiently] and took my order. They told me it would be about ten minutes for my order to come out, but it ended up being about 17; not bad considering how busy they were. They have a small seating area for to-go orders and those waiting on a table. Note: there’s a bench with their sign above it; if you’re 6 foot or taller, be careful; I hit my head… Once food was ready they called me over to verify the order. Everything was packed well and carried fine without spilling or damaging the food. It kept temperature well, too, though I work less than five minutes away, so take that with a grain of salt. Anyways, the wait was worth it, the food is excellent! I had a combo of the soy garlic and spicy wings as well as the seasoned fries. What I had was great, the spicy was indeed spicy but not unreasonably so, though I had to take a break with the fries, which were also very good and crisp. Got takeout with two other coworkers, they got the bibimbap, bulgogi tacos, kimchi, and a side of rice; both loved every bit of their meals. Pricing is a tad high, though; the regular menu pricing is too high while the lunch special menu brings it to more reasonable territory. If you want the chicken or tacos, go during lunch; otherwise, try their other menu options after 3pm."

I had lunch there yesterday and the fried chicken wings were delicious. I can't quite remember what I ordered, but it was really good, though there was a bit too much rice in the bowl. The lunch prices are on the expensive side, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. If you've never tried Korean barbecue, I definitely recommend giving it a go!

Nam (not sure if that's how you spell her name but she was a sweet Cambodian girl) was incredibly patient and helpful in helping me order as it was my first time there. The soy garlic wings are bombbbb and paired with their kimchi and pickled radish, it's the perfect mix! Even better than pickled daikon imo. Would definitely come back and try more foods.

We sampled a bit of everything, including 10 spicy chicken wings, pork dumplings, Korean tacos, seafood Bibimbap, and a Bonchon wrap. Everything was delicious, but the wings were definitely the standout dish. They were incredibly crispy on the outside, and the flavor was fantastic. When they say "spicy," they truly mean it — though the heat was manageable. We will undoubtedly return. The pricing is reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. View menu

Best items in the IMO menu? The pot sticker with the soya garlic sauce is perfect! As for the boneless wings, I love those in each of the flavors. They are a great ratio of crispy to real meat. The hot sauce is definitely HOT but also has a great taste. When I went to this place, there were only 1 other customers and it took a while to get out for the food, but my bf and I were not harassed by him because we enjoyed the view and good conversation. My Bf really likes her raid that comes with the wings if he is not typical of a raid. But I repeat: Pot sticker!!

The service was fast and friendly, with the staff being very attentive and courteous. I tried the lunch special, which was a half and half combo of soy garlic and spicy roasted chicken, served with their seasoned fries. It was incredibly delicious and the chicken was wonderfully crispy. Be warned, the spicy option is genuinely spicy—not for the faint of heart! It can leave your lips tinged, make your eyes water, and cause your nose to run, depending on your spice tolerance (I would say mine is moderate). Just a tip: they offer lunch specials from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, so if you choose from the regular menu, be prepared to spend a bit more. The location is beautiful, with indoor seating, outdo...

"I 've always wanted to eat here when in the Sugar Land Town Plaza area, but never really got the chance until this past Saturday (September 2, 2023 . I can 't recall how many years they 've been participating in Houston Restaurants Weeks (HRW , but it was a good time, and incentive to finally try them out last Labor Day weekend. I was there for a pre-concert dinner. (The concert that I attending was at the Smart Financial Centre nearby. I type nearby because it takes no more than five minutes to get there if you get all green lights. Lol. First thing was that were very accommodating. The HRW site that reservations were required, but since this was a spontaneous decision, I thought I would take a chance, and hopefully get a table. Good thing because the restaurant wasn 't too busy. I was seated by my server, Dalton, who was very friendly, patient, and accommodating. Plus, he didn 't come out as too eager like other servers in other establishments; he didn 't appear at my table every 30 seconds asking how my food (and drink was. That is a pet peeve of mine; seriously, let me, at least, take a bite of my food! Lol. Props to Dalton! As of the food, their HRW menu was in three courses: appetizer, main dish, and dessert. I chose the melon bites, chicken marsala, and tiramisu, respectively. For my drink, it was water, and at first, a cider made by Aval. But, unfortunately, they didn 't have any more so I settled for a Riesling by Leitz. The melon bites were Watermelon, cantaloupe, prosciutto, toasted pistachio and balsamic glaze. This wasn 't your parents cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto appetizer. Just the thought of that presentation makes me shake my head and roll my eyes. Lol. V&V 's presentation was hella pretty. It gave me a look of god, why do I have to destroy this? Forgot to note that this was delicious. Just enough sweetness from the melons, and just enough tartness from the balsamic glaze. The chicken marsala was served with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. This dish was just right: the chicken wasn 't dry nor the sauce too salty. Nor, did the asparagus turned out to taste rubbery. Just enough crisp when cutting it. And, the sauce was a great substitute gravy for the mashed potatoes. The tiramisu was just right, too. The color of it was perfect; sometimes when I order tiramisu, the coffee color takes over from the lady fingers to the mascarpone. And, I 'm not describing the cocoa powder that is shakes on top of it. The espresso taste, by the way, was not overpowering, either. The Riesling was very good. I detected a bit of an orangey smell from it, but actually drinking it, the wine had hints of apple, lime, and tarragon. I don 't drink wine that often, but I kind of want to buy a bottle of this. Lol. I was offered another glass of wine, but the alcohol was sneaking in, and was giving me hints that it was time to go. Plus, I was driving, so that wouldn 't be good. Would I come here again? That would be a yes. The service, food, and drink was great. Plus, I saw that they had pork belly on their menu. There, you see, that 's an incentive! Lol."
