"Despite the fact that when I walked in to get my order, it appeared to be all chaos, with a line out the door and staff running food out to the tables and the ladies behind the counter going HAM on the to-go orders, I have such immediate deep love for Lang Van that I have to give it 5 stars. This is a small, family-owned business that you have to love or you may be a monster. Know what you 're in for on the weekend and plan accordingly. It 's a small restaurant with parking that doesn 't allow for running in and picking up your order easily. My friend waited in the car for me and at first I was like WTF am I walking into here? But it was OK because the people waiting for a table were in such a good mood and let me pass and the captain of the ship might be the nicest lady in all of Charlotte (a city full of friendly people, mind you). She 's a pro back there, handling orders with aplomb. I 'm sorry, baby, one minute, she assured me as she zipped by and I believed her. It was five minutes and I didn 't care. I read all the love letters to the business as I waited, dodging well-meaning servers teetering past with large bowls of pho in hand. OK, so I had to mention all of this because I am known to be rather impatient at times. The food is excellent but this place is more than just great Vietnamese food, which, even when average is always really damn good, let 's face it. My order: lemongrass tofu. Delicious with fresh mint and greens and sprouts and vermicelli noodles. The perfect vegan Vietnamese food (they are so accommodating when you specify no fish sauce etc)."

"The restaurant offers excellent food and has friendly staff. There is a wide variety of dishes available, making it easy for everyone to find something they like. They also offer options that are gluten-free and nut-free. However, the prices have increased significantly recently. While we used to get a good value for our money when we first visited a few years ago, our most recent visit cost us $50 (before tip) for two people. Additionally, alcoholic drinks from the bar were $12-14 each. Our main complaint was the lack of attentive service once the food was served. The staff seemed to ignore us, and we had to go inside to ask for things like boxes and extra napkins."

"Decided to try this place out based on a recommendation but I was highly disappointed. Service was standard, but the food and cleanliness of our table caused issues. My table was dirty and sticky causing me to lay down napkins as a barrier. Next was the food. The rosemary truffle fries were good but I ordered a black bean burger that was so dry and overcooked that it was crumbling and had a burnt flavor. By the time I started eating it (ate all my fries first) I was over the meal. I ended up taking the patty off the bun and only eating the veggies and bread. The waitress came over to start clearing the table when I showed and told her about the quality of my burger but nothing was done. Was not pleased at all with the food and not sure if I will visit again, especially since it was at 230pm and it wasn't even busy."

"Bistro La Bon is a true gem!The air, ambiance, and seating is wonderful. Chic and elegant, rustic and contemporary. It just feels really nice—dressed up or down!The waitstaff is warm and their energy is comfy. Allie is a wonderful bartender who can craft crisp cocktails!The food is delicious! I’ve been on 2 occasions (both during brunch hours) and thoroughly enjoyed my meals. On Sunday, there is a brunch buffet. Sweet and or savory…but I say, choose a little of both!Bistro La Bon has some of the best French toast! For Saturday brunch I enjoyed the Italian Panini, and Belgian waffles. Both were large portions and well worth the cost! The panini is beautifully layered and the bread has a perfect crunch. The waffles were good and plenty.For Sunday brunch I tried a number of items. The buffet is diverse, offering items including fresh fruit, brisket, pasta salad, cheesy grits, and other pairings like mozzarella, tomato and cucumbers. My absolute favorites were the pasta salad, the brisket (it literally MELTS on contact), the shrimp and grits and the fruit. The strawberry limoncello is tasty and cute!The manager Anthony is a delight! His hospitality will made me come back for sure.If you’re seeing this, it is your sign to try Bistro La Bon. "A friend of mine came into town and she wanted some Thai food so I found this cute restaurant outside of Noda. The vibe is very cute and the service was excellent. The Jolly Rancher cocktail tasted just like a green Jolly rancher and I ordered the Spicy Basil Stir Fry Rice Bowl. You can choose your spice level from 0-5. I think anything above 3 is way too hot, I like spicy food so I chose level 3 and that was just enough. We had a great time and will definitely be back."
