"So, last year, I drove cross country and with the help of HappyCow, was able to find many wonderful vegan restaurants along the way. I am finally getting around to writing some reviews. Out of the many restaurants I stopped at, I had 4 absolute favorites, and this was one of them. Aside from having a cool, intriguing name, Dirt Burger has some unique options, i.e., Dirt Balls, instead of boring old French fries to go with your burger. Everything on the menu is vegan, which is always a plus, and the food, while quick, is made to order. The place is nothing fancy; it's basically a burger joint, but the food is delicious, as is the homemade lemonade. Had the opportunity to eat here twice on my way west, and twice again on my way back home a month later. Highly recommend."

"Came with my family for Valentine's Day. We made a reservation and were seated right away. The resturaunt was busy but our food was served promptly and tasted great. Waitstaff were attentive and quick with refills. Portions were generous and they were happy to send boxes with us. We will be back to try more of the menu."

"one of my favorite places to go before attending a show at the Temple or Civic Center food choices are plentiful and everything from pizza to steak and pasta; poultry, seafood and beef options for any taste preference. Server had a smile on her face, checked back with us frequently and kept our drinks topped off."

"Love the restaurant had awful service at the end and took 30 min to get cashed out. Server struggled with bill and there was no manager support. Odd because it is very well run. Will definitely go back and hope the server gets more support/training. Awesome spot."

"When visiting Des Moines, this by far was arguably the best restaurant we ate at! I would highly recommend! Service was good and the food was great! Good flavor and portions. We ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, one normal and one with “light” (less) cheese. I think the one with light cheese was a much better choice. Especially if you’re not a huge connoisseur of cheese. We also ordered the Chicken Tortilla soup and the Jalapeño Chicken sandwich. All of it was extremely flavorful and well prepared. The Malo Fries were good as well! Cost is slightly on the higher side for a lunch meal. But definitely worth a try!"
