"On March 22nd, I ordered Singapore rice noodles, General Chicken, and Szechuan Beef (they no longer offer crispy beef). Unfortunately, the food quality left much to be desired: 1. **Singapore Rice Noodles**: The dish was bland and lackluster. It desperately needed more curry powder, spices, and meat. In previous visits, the dish was flavorful and included ample meat, eggs, and vegetables. Now, it was mostly 95% rice noodles (vermicelli) and had a faint, off-putting smell, suggesting it might have been stale. 2. **Szechuan Beef**: This dish was heavily salted and contained very little beef—about 70% was vegetables and only 30% was meat. The beef itself was thickly cut, rather than the uniform slices I expected. 3. **General Chicken**: This was the only redeeming part of the meal, though it was still mediocre. Nearby restaurants like Wah Shine and Dragon Palace offer exceptional General Chicken. Because of this disappointing experience, my family is hesitant to order from Chef Chen again. If we do in the future, I can confidently say that the Singapore Rice Noodles and Szechuan Beef will be off the table. On a positive note, I must commend Brian, who took my order. He was polite, professional, and efficient in processing my takeout. Ultimately, I believe everyone has their preferences. If you’re curious, feel free to give Chef Chen a try despite my review. The new ownership might suit your tastes, and if not, I encourage you to provide constructive feedback to help them improve. By the way, if you're in the mood for great Singapore Rice Noodles, I highly recommend Dragon Palace in Vacaville."

The food was excellent. We were seated right away, and our meals arrived in under 15 minutes. Everything tasted fantastic. Be warned, the dishes labeled as 'spicy' truly pack a punch!

I love this place! I and my daughter went and the food was amazing! I had the orange beef I would highly recommend, and the cook came out to ask if everything was fine customer service

Absolutely fantastic! The portions are generous, and everything is incredibly fresh and delicious. I will definitely return. The service was excellent; our food arrived quicker than we anticipated, and they even brought it out to our truck.

I?m not sure why this place doesn?t have a line out the door! I didn?t find anything about it on line but took a chance and got some food to go. It is by far the best Chinese food I?ve had in years. The food is fresh, sauces are delicious and portions are generous. I have never written a review, this food is so special I wanted to share. Next time you have a craving for Chinese check it out. You won?t be sorry! Enjoy ???

This place is probably my favorite Chinese in town. I believe they're under new ownership, but the dishes taste fairly similar if not better. I've tried a few different dishes, all of them have been great. They have a special dinner for one which started at $9.25. You pick an entree and pork fried rice, and I think you can upgrade to chow mien for a buck. Service is very friendly, and the serving size is very very large. If you can finish this in one sitting, you need to be very hungry. Also it depends on what you get I suppose. Give them a try, especially if you've been there before in the past and had a bad experience. View menu

My first time, this Chinese restaurant is trying. We got in. Our waiter was Brian. He greeted us with his pleasant smile great personality. Brian is a very personal professional. He's very good what he shows. We ordered vegetable rolls, bbq pork chow fun, salt pepper chicken wing, chicken chow mine.. The food arrived within 10 minutes. The food was hot, fresh, portions were quite large, and it tasted amazing. It was the best Chinese food I've tasted for a long time. The owner even came out, greeted us and asked how everything tasted. If you are in the mood for Chinese food, we recommend you try this restaurant. I'm sure Brian and his dad would appreciate your support and business. BTW, there...

We used to be regulars here, dining in and ordering takeout or delivery, but after our last experience, we will never return. Every dish was ridiculously salty—how do you mess up simple chow mein and fried rice? My husband had to drive all the way back to the restaurant, and when he told them the food was too salty, they denied it. They even said no one else had complained. After some arguing, they reluctantly offered to remake the dishes without salt. By then, my husband just wanted a refund for the inedible food—it was like one of those prank videos where people dump a spoonful of salt on the food. The staff hesitated, saying they’d lose money on ingredients. Since the management changed,...

"Attending my friend's wedding i got to know about Clay Oven Grill and Bar since the food for the evening was catered by them. Finger licking , lip smacking food served at its finest best. That would still be an understatement. Started my first round with the appetizers which there was an array (a combination of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options of, though i happened to pick the fish and paneer pakora along with the chicken tandoori pieces . The sauce that was served on the side had absolute amazing flavors written all over it. The chicken tandoori had flavor undertones of being prepared in a tandoor which you could tell right away. Can't get any more authentic with the way it needs to be prepared. The pakoras had just the right amount of crisp and the taste with the spices used during the preparation added gold to glory. Pretty phenomenal. Picked up a cup of tea along the way (though there was filter coffee on offer too, which i happened to sip late in the evening and boy it turned to be just amazing which had authenticity written all over it as it was neither too strong nor too mild and just the perfect taste as well. Didn't stop at round 1 as my belly rumbled for more and round 2 had home run written all over it!! A few events and a couple of hours later , dinner was served (eagerly awaited : . There were Dal Makhni , Butter Chicken , Goat curry (can't get over it , a mixed veggie platter along with a couple different type of Naan options (namely plain and Garlic with salad , green chutney (cilantro and raita (yogurt with some finely sliced onions, spices and herbs to enjoy. I started with Goat curry and some garlic naan and you could tell that the chef/cook who would have prepared it knew what he was doing. At times when i have eaten goat curry at weddings/receptions/catered events, you get that smell from the cooked goat/lamb meat which at times can throw people off and there wasn't even the slightest of traces of that as my nose is pretty sensitive to these nitty-gritty nuances. The curry packed a punch and the meat fell off the bone with the slightest of nibbles which definitely made it an enjoyable experience rather than a tussle. Naans were perfect and just the right and not overwhelming which they can be during such large gatherings. Absolute measure of good quality control being administered!! Next up for grab was butter chicken and i added some Dal makhni in a bowl along side and tasted the same with plain naan. The chicken had a very authentic flavor which was very different from a conventional butter chicken that you would get at any restaurant out there. This was more subtle though every chicken piece that i had was very tender and juicy (at times in the past i have had variations of butter chicken , where the chicken pieces become thick as rock and are a big turn off and melted in the mouth at the first bite. The Dal makhni was laced with ghee and definitely the aroma was filling the air. To top it rasmalai and carrot halwa were being served as the desserts for the evening. I happened to pick a couple of rasmalai pieces along with a big spoon of the halwa and the bar just kept getting raised to a new high!!! The time that the team at Clay Oven would have spent preparing these dishes definitely showed in the output. Serving this top notch quality food with an extremely humble and guest focussed crew wrapped up this special evening and must say kudos and great job to the folks at Clay Over Grill and Bar. I would love to drive down to the restaurant some time soon and would recommend this over any other restaurant that you think would even be a close second, since if they could maintain such high quality with such a large gathering they definitely would do so and more in a scaled down and a restaurant setting. So long!! Review from our last visit on 05/27/24 Google enforces a limit of characters in the review though I have detailed our last visit in my most recent Yelp review of the business. An absolutely amazing experience that we will definitely repeat!!!"
