"This restaurant is a little gem tucked off the main downtown Bethesda drag because it surprises you with a quiet ambiance and a platter of delicious amazing vegan food! I have been here several times and oscillate between the special 7-item vegan combo and the special 10-item vegan combo. Because each offering is about a large serving spoonful, it's not so much more food, but it sometimes is daunting to consider ordering 10 different items! I am generally about the same level of full belly after each, because, really it's the injera that fills you up. If you just eat the dishes and not injera, you'll be fine and can lower your carb intake. My favorite dishes here are the shiro wot, which I like to order separately. The green beans are good but always very thoroughly cooked, so be aware crisp green beans is not the goal, but flavor is the goal. I love the cabbage and the collard greens for sure. The proteins are delicious, especially the yellow split pea. All around a delicious meal, filling, and well balanced. You can order traditional injera/ gluten-free for an extra cost."

We love this Ethiopian restaurant. Everything is clearly marked. There are three vegans in our family and we usually order the deluxe vegan combo. Highly recommended!

Love getting CherCher for a night. Their vegan options are clearly marked online so you can order it straight to your home. It's so nice to have a full and comforting meal on cold nights. I especially love the cabbage and carrots and their kik. The lentils are a little spicy, but that's what's so nice about them. View menu

I recently had dinner at this restaurant and it was a fantastic experience. The price per person ranged from $30 to $50, but it was well worth it for the quality of food and service. I would give the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect score of 5. Highly recommend trying the Kitfo, Shiro Wot, and TIBS dishes.

Chercher was absolutely fine. Small little restaurant with a very friendly staff. The sampler was good, but we've been to other places before that allow you to choose what's on the sampler which we enjoyed more. Compared to other places we also felt Chercher was missing a depth of flavor that we've had before. Overall good, not amazing.

I typically eat at their DC location, which is much smaller. I was impressed when entering the restaurant, as it was large, clean, and modern. The food was just as delicious as at their DC location. However, I was very disappointed with the staff. I don't understand why Ethiopian restaurants seem to have slow and rude staff. Overall, the service was rated as a 2 out of 5. The atmosphere, however, was fantastic, receiving a 5 out of 5 rating. I recommend trying the Deluxe Vegan Platter, Sambosa Lentil, and the Vegan and Meat Combo 2. The average price per person for a meal is between $20 and $30. View menu

We arrived for lunch around 12:30 on a Sunday and it was quiet. We opted to sit outside and a couple of tables filled shortly after. Smaller and upscale decorated interior with a mix of tables including Booth options and a small Bar area. We wanted to try a few dishes knowing we would take some home. Started with the Special Tibs, Kitfo and Kwanta Fir Fir. Tibs was excellent, Kitfo was very good and the Kwanta was a bit too spicy (and we can handle heat). After a debate, we ordered the Gored Gored to try. Traditional version of this dish and very good-would have liked the Beef to be more tender though. Service was engaged and our Server was patient given our questions and requests. Two more...

Usually when I have Ethiopian food, it's been since I've had Ethiopian food, and it always smacks me in the face with amazement. This time it has indeed been 2 years since eating Ethiopian food but unfortunately I wasn't punched with amazing flavors. The service was slow. Food wasn't hot just luke warm so when it arrived we felt rushed to smash it before it got too cold. The salad portion with gigantic tomato bases and large raw onions was not attractive at all. Some of the record items were better than others (as always, IMO) but nothing really stood out. I agree with some of the other reviewers who said it could use more saisoning. I probably wouldn't eat here again but was glad to see Eth...
