"Wow! Not that great! Got the combo with a egg fu young pattie, chicken chop suey, and a shrimp fried rice. Reasonably priced. Umm… no flavor, no Unami! Box of veggies. If you are looking for some American Chinese food come to the Northside go to Wing Chong on Elston near Irving! Or Mayflower on Pulaski near foster. Their hot sauce is not hot all, the Chilli essence is missing it’s just burnt dried peppers in oil. The fried rice is Flavor-less. The chicken was poorly sliced. The Egg Fu Young gravy was flavor-less. The people who gave this place a good review come to the Northside of Chicago and come taste some Great American Chinese food."

It’s a bit pricey, but the food is excellent. I truly appreciate the hard work they put in, and I would rate this place five stars for consistently delivering great meals.

Got the combination fried rice and the beef and chicken had a weird flavor. It almost tasted like breakfast sausage. Wings and egg rolls We're good. Maybe I'll give it one more try with sea food.

Amazing food at unbeatable prices! I've tried other Chinese restaurants, but nothing compares to China Lamp. The food is truly fantastic. I highly recommend giving it a try! Definitely deserves 5 stars! View menu

This place is a hidden gem and the only original Chinese food place that survived decades and still taste good. I love the vegetable fried rice with extra onions and beef egg foo yung. My food have always been served nice hot. Good customers service. I highly recommend this place.

I ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg foo young, pepper steak, and two egg rolls. The bean sprouts were limp and chewy, and the shrimp looked like they came straight out of a can—they were so small. The pepper steak was decent, and the egg rolls were just okay. Honestly, the only thing I really liked about this place was the price.

The food is seasoned well. I ordered the combination fried rice, combination egg foo young and the shrimp and lobster sauce. My only problem is that instead of using chicken which should be in the combination dishes, they used TOFU. There was absolutely NO CHICKEN in either of my dishes. Tofu wasn't even a listed ingredient. I may go back but definitely won't be ordering anything combination again. View menu

The food was absolutely delicious, and they offered several options that you won’t typically find in most traditional Chinese restaurants. We ordered the yet ca main soup, pork hong sue, Szechuan sliced beef, and potstickers. The amount and quality of food for the price is incredible! I’m so glad we discovered this gem that seems to have been around forever! My favorite was probably the soup, which was light and flavorful, featuring exceptionally delicate pieces of bark.

The food was incredibly tasty and offered several unique options that you don't usually find at other Chinese restaurants. We ordered the Yet Ca Main soup, Pork Hong Sue, Szechuan Sliced Beef, and Potstickers. The portion sizes and quality of the food for the price are outstanding! I'm so pleased we discovered this hidden gem that has apparently been around for a long time! My favorite dish was definitely the soup, which was light and flavorful, featuring wonderfully tender pieces of beef.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
