"Just tried this place for the first time today. We were in the area looking for something quick to eat and saw it had a 4.8. The place was closing and they let us take our time looking at the menu and took some chairs down for us to sit and eat and told us not to rush even though they had closed. The Chef even noticed from behind the counter that my husband was cutting up his olives and brought over a container of olives which my husband loves! Very friendly staff. Took the time to check on us and talk to us and did not make us feel rushed to leave like most places do when they are about to close. Best part was that the food was amazing! We love nachos and try them from everywhere. They had a nice twist to the nachos and they were delicious! Will definitely be back soon! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"I had been wanting to try Johnny Ray's for a while, and finally had the chance to get some takeout from their location. I was a little surprised by the industrial surroundings, but that didn't bother me. Being a native of Detroit, I'm used to finding soul food restaurants in unexpected places. The last time I had real soul food was in Detroit years ago, and Johnny Ray's definitely brought back some great memories. I ordered fried catfish, fried okra, lemon pepper wings, string beans, mac and cheese, collard greens, cabbage, all with cornbread, and everything tasted delicious. I would definitely go back. Just a tip for carryout orders, it's best to call ahead as my order took longer than expected. But overall, great food and I give Johnny Ray's a thumbs up."

"I'm a return customer for a reason. I've had chance to try many of the meals and all of the desserts. Everything is prepared perfectly and is a top tier dining experience. We tend to sit in the dining room, so cannot address the amenities of the sports bar side of the house. The menu selection is always eclectic, from the elegant simplicity of a perfectly executed burger to the exquisitely prepared braised lamb shank. The cocktail and spirit selection provides a variety to suit any palate. Any one of the desserts would bolster your mood and energy and allow you to go on a mighty quest to save Middle-Earth (or your local community). The service is always well executed, allowing ample time to finish multiple courses. The staff is pleasant, prompt, knowledgeable and engaging. I highly recommend the experience."

"Me and 2 friends came in for a late dinner. We all ordered seafood, steamed shrimp and 2 cod dishes. It was all fantastic and I was shocked at how much cod came with the fish and chips. We also ordered 18 house oysters and they were delicious! To top it all off the Guinness was only $3 since they were rotating it out and trying to empty the keg. A great dinner for sure!"

"You will not be disappointed with this small place in a small not describing stripe mall in which it also has a 7-Eleven. I really enjoy this little place. I have visited many times before and how my first visit was received with a very warm greeting from the staff. Last time I came, I ordered a steak and cheese that I disappeared within a few minutes. I was amazed, even so the flavors were on point! This visit Joe directed me towards the Fruitti di Mare Pasta and I also ordered the house salad fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back and I'm excited to try more. Thank you La Porchetta!"
