"Searching for a locally owned restaurant with great deli food and breakfast on our 3 hour drive back home. So happy we gave Dutzow Deli a try. This non-descript place on the KATY trail was great. Ruben was as good as any in NY, as was the salami, bacon, ham, cream sandwich and crepe special. BUT, What stood out was the crinkle fries- this cut can be mushy and limp. These Dutzow fries had a perfect crisp to them! Servers were engaging and seemed happy to serve. My comment on non-descript is because decor is plain inside and out. Get some color outside, put up a rustic vintage look. Inside use some Local history of KATY, German vineyards and Dan Boon. This could give this place more ambiance it deserves. But then again who likes to wait for a table : ."

German food was mediocre. I thought the apples were homemade. Even if you mention homemade German chocolate cake please, it is a small cupcake and no slice for almost $4. Service was good!

They've been driving past a thousand times and finally stopped. Now I meet a thousand times because I don't stop earlier. Nice inside, great service and that was probably one of the best tasting breakfasts we've ever eaten.

I don't know of a better place to get breakfast. I've tried the steak and eggs, blueberry pancakes, meat omelette and the cinnamon bun pancakes. All of them were delicious! Great coffee too and friendly staff with very good prices. View menu

After 23 years of living in the area, I finally decided to stop in at the deli and give it a try. They did not disappoint! We got the Oktoberfest sampler platter and it was delicious. A great deal and super filling for 2 people with leftovers! Fresh and authentic, highly recommend.

A little out of the way, but definitely stop eating for a bite. A variety of breakfast options served hot and fast. The interior is somewhat rough, but clean. I asked for dry toast, and it was throttled, but this is my only negative thing about the food. A plus is when you are on the Katy, you can rest and have one of their delicious looking desserts.
