"The staff here are wonderful, and the service is always top-notch—special thanks to Mateo for his exceptional attention. It's a charming little spot with a frosty mug waiting for your beer. The fajitas are absolutely delicious, and the margaritas are just right. You also get two types of salsa as a standard offering. However, the true standout is the chicken soup, which is a real hidden treasure. If you don’t enjoy this place, then something must be wrong!"

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the Lakeshore East area. It's family-owned and has such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I also love the music they play!

Brunch with a Mexican flair. Bottomless mimosa brunch is a great deal. Food is very well priced and tasty. This location is larger so bigger parties (and much louder) that. The other location. Servers are very attentive!

Charming little Mexican eatery in a wonderful neighborhood. The carne asada is fantastic; I always pair it with the verde sauce. The service is consistently excellent and welcoming. They serve a fantastic margarita and also offer a great selection of Mexican beers. View menu

I really enjoy this cozy little restaurant. They offer a variety of salsas and their enchiladas are fantastic. The ground beef is high-quality compared to some other Mexican places I've tried. I usually find myself going through several bowls of salsa! My only drawback is that they open at 4 PM.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Chicago. I've had many things on the menu, and they are all superb. I love the fajitas, enchiladas, and combination plates. There are also many great options for vegetarians, including some of the best guacamole tacos I've ever had. The margaritas are top notch!

I had a fantastic experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was excellent, particularly the mole and steak. The service was outstanding—very friendly, with our water constantly refilled, and the waitress made sure to keep our chips topped up while checking in on us regularly. The portion sizes were generous, and I felt like we got great value for the price. View menu

Great service, large portions and a wide variety of food and sauces. Very cozy small restaurant. Very popular for takeout. If you had to eat alone, you would feel very comfortable with staff making you feel as if you were a family friend coming to visit. Very convenient for people staying at the Best Western. During peak hours you may need to wait due to popularity.

This restaurant is absolutely adorable! If you’re looking for excellent service, a friendly atmosphere, and a warm welcome, this is the spot for you. The only downside I encountered during my visits was the occasional loud drunk nearby, but given the restaurant’s small size, that’s something they can’t control. I just try to time my visits accordingly, and I always have a fantastic experience!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
