"I went to this restaurant and got very bad service. When I walked in immediately the waitress asked in a very nasty way if she can help me. Then I proceeded to ask her for the breakfast menu and she seemed like she didn't want to serve me. I asked for salami with toasted bread and cheese. Something really simple. But she seemed like she didn't want to serve me. Maybe because I was a black man and there was a language barrier? Who knows. Then as I was paying for my food she had a problem working the debit machine and made it clear there was a $7.00 minimum charge for my card to be used. Not to mention I was referred to as a Moreno and she caught an attitude when I asked what the problem was with the transaction. I would never go to this restaurant again and I encourage any African American to NOT spend any money with people like this. This is an example of the racism and discrimination that exists within the Hispanic community when they are business owners who don't want to serve people of color."

The prices are extremely high for what you get. The server was quite rude; she practically tossed my receipt onto the counter and rolled her eyes when I requested garlic and hot sauce. As I was leaving, she referred to me as "moreno" to another customer who spoke Spanish. This was my second visit, and it will certainly be my last. View menu

(Catering order) We had the Thanksgiving arroz con gandules, perniles pasteles as I hosted my family. It tasted and felt like home. Everyone was raving about the food and we have high standards as born and raised Puerto Ricans. Food was delivered right on time, perfectly packaged and still warm. The breaded boneless chicken chicharrón is simply incredible. It lacks the typical seasoning often found in most Dominican restaurants and instead has a homemade flavor, reminiscent of what your grandmother might make in the countryside. Each bite is filled with deliciousness. I'm really pleased I decided to order it because I usually have my doubts about this dish—it's simple to prepare, but it's also very easy to mess up. The chicken was tender and juicy. I strongly recommend ordering this; you won’t regret it. My family of four loved it, and it was the best $18 I've spent all week! View menu

The breaded boneless chicken chicharrón is incredible. It doesn’t have the typical seasoning you find in most Dominican restaurants; it feels more homemade. It tastes like something your grandmother from the countryside would make, with every bite bursting with flavor. I'm so glad I ordered it because I’m always a bit skeptical about this dish—it’s easy to prepare but can easily be done poorly. The chicken was tender and juicy, and I highly recommend it. Don’t think twice about ordering it; you can’t go wrong, and it was plenty for my family of four. It was the best $18 I've spent this week.

I got mofongo chicharron $15) and coffee with milk $1.50). The mofongo was so tasty, and the sauce on the side allowed me to adjust the saltiness. Tip: do not pour all of the sauce in- too salty. I couldn’t finish the food, because it was so much. The coffee was delicious for the price point, and the cashier was nice. The small restaurant feels cozy. I would love to come back if I’m in the area. Other details: bathroom is small and sufficient. The restaurant is in front of the 1 train. Most customers speak Spanish. Bachata music plays on TV. Tan, beach-themed wall. There’s a counter for those who aren’t eating. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atm...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
