"today with a couple of lunches in fenians! I have the Thursday special, hamburger steak with maischekartoffeln. the kartoffels were creamy, just the correct amount of butter. everyone at the table has tried and loved my masque! this was my first time with maic and slightly cooked kale, I really enjoyed the texture combo! I think I want my maema with kale from now on. the hamburger steak was beautifully spiced with a hauch sweet from the caramelized wobbles. I didn't know I could ask my hamburger steak to cook medium, so it was done well and a hair hard, but now I know. the technique of making a scotch egg is a tad tricky to get right. they brought the baby down. yolk was still casual, had exactly the correct amount of sausage, roasted crispy, without overcooking the egg yolk, but the sausage thoroughly cook. it is like breakfast in a bite! the ladies who ordered the curry have really enjoyed it, I have to try some, and it was good. it had some Indian flavor in it, but very weak. I didn't taste any heat, but I don't have any sense when it was a spicy one who said it was mild. we all have to try the fish N chips. cod was fresh, the frit on the fish and chips were before place, but needed only one hauch salt."

Sooo glad we passed through Jackson on our way back to TX and got to stop here. We came at 3pm, so it was slow and our waiter was so attentive and made great menu recommendations. The curry, ruben on rye, and 'sausage mash ' were absolutely fantastic. You can tell the cook put careful attention into the food. He also cooked it in no time. Would love to come back here next time at night to hear the live music. Super cozy/cool, hole-in-the wall environment.

The menu describes the pie this way: MS ground lamb, peas, carrot, leeks, fresh herbs, mashed potato crust Meat was cooked okay. No peas. No leeks, The mashed potato top was luke warm, with no crusting or evidence it had even been inside an oven. May have been an instant potato mix. The dish needed salt, no shakers in sight (Covid precautions). I wanted to ask for salt but no one bothered to check on me until I get up to leave.
