"I have yet to find cheese fondue as good as the one at Glarner Stube, and their thick and delicious Rueben sandwich is a delight for the taste buds. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful, even during busy times. As a non-chain restaurant, their hours may vary and reservations are sometimes necessary to secure a table. Whether you are passing through or staying at a local inn, Glarner Stube should definitely be on your list of places to visit in the city."

Great food! The first time all rose potatoes, meatballs and authentic fondue try. Excellent service! It jumped for a Thursday night.

The beer battered curd cheese was amazing, with a light and crisp texture. Be sure to try all the New Glarus sampler beers! Another must-try dish is their authentic Roesti, a hash brown with shallow-fried Swiss cheese.

We went on a Friday night and we could get a place in the bar. The food and service were excellent. Everything was really delicious and well prepared. Our brandy old fashions were also excellent and the hash browns were for dying. We will definitely come back!

If I could give it 6 stars I would. The fondue is amazing, but you definitely need a group of 4 at least. The traditional Swiss dishes are also excellent. Make sure you get the Roesti potatoes, I dream about them nightly. Very busy place with limited seating so call in advance to reserve a spot or try to be off the peak times. A must visit place to eat. View menu

This cozy little restaurant is a gem. The portions are generous, especially my 12-ounce steak - I'm relieved I didn't opt for the 24-ounce! I ended up sharing some with my friends. The food was excellent, and although I don't drink alcohol, my friends enjoyed the top-rated choices available. We were on a bike tour between Potosi and Verona, stopping at breweries and pubs along the way.

My husband and I were visiting in town and decided to try this place for a fish fry after reading the reviews. Our meal was excellent! Very good food. The soup had so much beef in it. Our deep fried cod tasted better than haddock. Very sweet and light beer battered breading. Waitstaff also did an excellent job. I would highly recommend this place. Don't be intimated when you first in door. You wont be disappointed.

"While in the city for a wedding, I had the pleasure to stop through this café not once, but twice. I couldn't resist making a second stop here after my first experience! During my first visit I stopped coffee and sweet toothbrush on an afternoon, and ordered a small Chai latte and a blueberry lavender white chocolate chocolate. I sat near the register and enjoyed my farewell before I went out for some shopping. The decor is simple and well made, and everything was very clean and organized. Chai Latte Perfection. Slightly sweet and perfectly seasoned, this drink was a winner. A Blueberry Lavender White Chocolate Cream This was an impulse purchase because it just looked good. And I tell you it was worth every penny. It was light and soft, with the perfect balance of sweet from the chocolate, tart from the blueberry and earthy from the lavender. They even warmed it for me, that was the icing on the cake. GREAT. During our second visit our whole group of 9 stayed for breakfast on Sunday before leaving the city. We were able to find enough space for our small group on the upper level of the café, and we all ordered a variety of breakfast food, from crab and artichoke quiche to Burritos, to Avocado Toast. Everyone loved their food, and they were all impressed that such a small café packed so much taste in their dishes. If you are in New Glarus, Fat Cat Coffee Works is worth the stop!"
