"I first heard of HomeState from a Buzzfeed Worth It video many many years ago and it has been on my list ever since. I love breakfast and I love tacos. Makes sense to combine the two! I haven't been to the other locations, but Playa Vista is a nice area and it's a lot easier to find street parking. There are some tables inside, and there's lots of outdoor seating. You order at the counter, get a number, and find a seat. Here's what we tried: Cookie milk iced coffee: It was a solid iced coffee and the concept of using cookie milk is very exciting, but unfortunately the flavor wasn't that strong Blanco (egg whites, shiitake mushrooms, monterey jack): I wanted something lighter to balance out the brisket and this was so good! This taco was definitely more stuffed than the other ones. Egg whites get a bad rep for having no flavor but this taco had a bunch of flavor. Only downside was that because of the mushrooms, it was pretty wet so it was a little difficult to eat. Perhaps not the one to order if you're trying to look cute on a date, but soo worth the mess. Pecos (eggs and brisket): Brisket for breakfast? Don't need to tell me twice. The brisket was very tender and paired super nicely with the eggs. Do yourself a favor and get the tacos with their house made flour tortillas. These were seriously some of the best flour tortillas I've had and if I could, I would love to just take home a giant stack of tortillas. I'll probably try some of the other locations that are a little closer to me, but this was a fantastic first experience and I'm happy to report it exceeded my expectations!"

The potato taco is the only dish I ever get here, and it’s absolutely perfect. Vegetarian options: Potato taco.

This is my favorite Home State of the 3 locations I have been to. More elbow room, easier parking, nice area with the same great food. And the tech bro watching is almost Bay level!

I ordered a Cheese Quesadilla, a Brisket taco, the Big Queso, and the Big Guac. Everything was delicious! My kids really enjoyed the Cheese Quesadilla. However, I found the Big Guac to be a bit too salty.

It's always a great choice to have queso and breakfast tacos for breakfast. Everything was delicious, though the two flour tortillas were a bit hard from being overheated. The queso was perfect—better than ever, in fact. The chips were outstanding. View menu

Usually not a fan of Tex Mex, but these guys are making delicious stuff. The homemade flour tortillas are a must. Great breakfast and lunch tacos. Location is a bit meh office complex so it’s dead during the weekend. Still worth a drive there if you’re in the area though.

The atmosphere and service were great but the food didn't deliver. As I was born and raised in Texas, this is not a Texas kitchen....Breakfast tacos are pretty pricey but very small. Plus, you should have a choice between real or vegan eggs. Food had no flavor at all. I had to drown it in sauce to eat it. Big miss for me.

Really enjoyed my picadillo brisket tacos at HomeState. The meats were well seasoned and cooked to tender perfection! The salsa options weren't as spicy as I'd like but they paired nicely with the tacos. I absolutely loved the homemade flour tortillas. I usually prefer crunchy tacos over soft and corn tortillas over flour but HomeState won me over! Plus, the portions are huge! I was stuffed and had to bring a taco and some of the potatoes home. The potatoes weren't anything different but I like potatoes so it met my breakfast needs for the morning! Service was quick and friendly. Really the only con is terrible parking. Be prepared to find street parking and walk! There is a structure you ca... View menu

Best breakfast tacos with authentic northern Mexico tortillas! My mexican family loved the tacos specially the brisket, trinity and pecos. Also the eggs are very fresh, soft and juicyThere's usually a line to order but it moves fast so the wait is not longThe only annoying thing is that if you have to go to the bathroom you have to walk a bit through the kitchen, the staff kindly moves asap to let the customers through but I imagine this is just as annoying for themVegetarian options: Highly recommend the Blanco and Pecos breakfast tacos! They're very savory, juicy and perfectly fillingParking: There's definitely enough parking space if you dont mind walking just a bit around the block, it's...

I was in the area and take advantage of the opportunity to try this place out. As a huge fan of Tex-Mex for breakfast, the breakfast tacos were okay, but I really liked their other tacos. The place is well decorated with ample seating both inside and outside. The service was also good, and super helpful when answering questions.I got the following items:Guadalupe: This one was a little underwhelming. I wished I could have tasted more of the chorizo, but adding some of their salsa helped a lot.Tijuana Panther: I much preferred this taco. Juicy and full of flavor, this one didn't need the salsa at all. I was worried this one would be too heavy with the potatoes and queso, but the pico de gallo...

"I never leave bad reviews when I can help, but from our experience last night I only had to say for dinner as a whole was so disappointing, the least and after the output it was just a complete bill. if they come here for a nice dinner, they have great food or steaks please skip. go somewhere else food: we ordered the oysters, lobster bisque, bread basket (the btw is) and the tomahawk steak with sides. the entire meal was nothing special, characterized by the fact that even though our server always say that its just come out of the often his hot we have the broth basket roomtemp and the lobster bisque as a think. none of them were served hot. I give these stars only because of the tomahawk steak in the middle well, it was delicious. it was a hope that it would be good, right? we ordered the familiar and the brussels sprouts, but it came out, served on small dust sacks. small portions. a little taste. Note: they no longer serve the special measurable and sauce for any steak order. bummer ambiance service: la boucherie is on the floor of the hotel so that the prospects in the night are amazing. server were nice and polite. they were attentive and very professional. everything in all, if I can turn back the time, I wouldn't be here at all. the evening has lost its elegance and prices do not justify the disappointing food. I hope they can fix this and bring back the old la boucherie charme and aromen."
