"Quick Summary: I have low spice tolerance, and spicy dishes are very spicy Lightly seasoned for most dishesWe visited here on a busy weekday lunch hour, but we were able to get a seat before it became high rush hour. For this round I was mostly anticipating what the dishes will be as one of the group members ordered. However, I did request to try the hot and sour soup, so that happily got into the ordering mix. We did order a couple, but the soups arrived first. The hot and sour soup was very spicy. It is the 'first sip is the dangerous ' kind, where one mistake could send one coughing. I tried not to, but it is close. The soup also emitted a cozy warmth from the stomach, so while it was spicy it was nice. Some of the dishes I ordered I wasn 't able to take photos, but my favorite was a dish with beef pan fried with peppers. The seasoning was a dry rub kind, so there was no sauce. The beef was very flavorful because of the spices, that were sprinkled on top."

As someone born and raised in Hunan, the food had nothing to do with Hunan at all.

I 've been eating here since 2001!...Yes! While working for the pacific stock exchange. There was a trader named Marty and the special was invented. Was black bean chicken with sausage!..That 's over 23 years ago!...and still amazing!!!!

So disappointed. Ordered the famous Diana's meat pie today and it was horrible. Years working in SF this was an absolute treat. Will never order this again. Maybe there are new owners or cooks but it's not the same. Don't waste your money like I did. View menu

Not only the best Hunan Restaurant in San Francisco, I would dare to say it is the best in the world. Of course I haven't tried all of them, but I'm still confident. Henry Chung's family has been an institution in San Francisco and they have maintained the quality he established decades ago at of each of their restaurants, although a few have closed. My favorite restaurant in the world.

The absolute best Chinese anywhere. My favorite, by far, is Diana's Meat Pie. I also recommend the Harvest Pork; Mongolian Beef; and, Kung Pao Chicken. I first ate at a Henry's in 1993 on Battery St in SF. Next I frequented Henry's on Bryant. Now it's Henry's on Natoma or Church St. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED...but, this is not Panda Express. This is substantial, regional Chinese food. Their chow mein is great, but that's not the reason to go for me.

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
