The view of the San Marcos River is fantastic. The salmon dish was delicious and perfectly portioned.

My first time to Ivar's. Met friends there. Really good food. Dog friendly! Definitely a new favorite hangout!!

Ivars employees are so sweet! Every single one of them treat me like family and it means the world to me! The are also the sweetest people ever!! The food is wonderful ! You need to experience the gorgeous view!

Y boyfriend and I ate there earlier after we went tubing down the river. I think it was actually my first time to ever eat there. And I'm from San Marcos. The food was really great and the drinks is an added bonus. If you want to enjoy good food go by and eat at Ivar's if you hadn't yet. You won't be disappointed.

We were out visiting our niece and decided to eat at Ivar's for lunch. They didn't have outside seating available but we were still able to overlook the river at our table inside. We ordered the seafood platter, chicken fried steak and Mac and cheese with brisket. All the meals were good. It wasn't slap you in the face great but I also wasn't disappointed by the flavor. Service was good and food came out in a timely manner. I love that they had a dog friendly patio. We enjoyed the view while eating our meals. View menu

great place to take an out of towner to show the river. great service and food came out fast. I was traveling and we decided to stop here for dinner. The view is fantastic and I would highly suggest sitting outside for whatever meal you're going to be there. We ordered a few appetizers like the nachos. I ordered the fried catfish Poboy with fried shrimp. The food came out very fast. Overall it was a decent Poboy. I felt like there was a lot of bread and it overpowered the sandwich. The sandwich comes with a slaw but it was pretty dry for my taste. It was hard to taste anything but the bread. The baked beans were very yummy. The potato salad was delicious and filling. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, but I would try a different entrée.

So my experience starts with the hostess Sam who was so welcoming and friendly to me. She gave me options on where to sit which was refreshing that she cared to ask. Nicole my server was great and made sure my drink was always full. She was for sure busy but never made me feel like an inconvenience. The food was so good and full of flavor! It was so good I forgot to take a picture. Juan, one of the kitchen managers, came out to take a custom order for me since I have quite a few dietary restrictions.
