"For our second visit, the host and staff cordially seated us in the dining room, attended to us promptly and afforded us a personal visit from the friendly owner. We had read that alcoholic beverages are now being served, a wonderful and anticipated change from our first visit. Bottled water with a basket of pita and chopped marinated red pepper were offered as a complimentary starter while we reviewed the options for our meals. The menu is extensive and the portions are ample. For an appetizer, my wife I enjoyed authentic falafel with humus and arugula accompanied with a sour cream topping. Unlike what we’ve eaten in other restaurants that serve this delicacy, our appetizer was savory, nicely presented and tasted better than any we’ve had in the Capital District. For our main dishes, my wife, a vegetarian, had the eggplant salad platter with baby baked potatoes, cherry tomatoes, ample cheese topping and a sizable green salad. My dinner meal was the branzino filets, delicately and artfully arranged mashed potatoes and a green salad. Both meals were served on large plates and very hot. Neither plate had any leftovers! Completing our meal were a serving of pistachio baklava and a pot of decaffeinated rooibos tea. The ambiance and excellent service by Sean made for an extremely favorable impression on us during this follow up visit. Needless to say, we highly recommend this restaurant, and we’ll be back!"

"Our first experience with Tengu Asian Bistro was through home delivery, and we were thoroughly impressed with our meal. Not only did we find the pricing to be reasonable, but the food was also fresh, flavorful, visually appealing, and arrived at our home exceptionally quickly. We ordered fried dumplings, three basic rolls, and two specialty rolls, which totaled around $80. We felt this was a fair price, especially when considering the overall experience, including taste, presentation, and packaging. The sushi was so good that for the first time in a long while, we finished everything we ordered. There are numerous reviews praising the specialty rolls, and we can certainly see why; they were absolutely delicious! The packaging was outstanding as well. The sushi was so well-packed that no matter how careless the delivery person might have been, the rolls arrived intact. I had expected them to be a mess upon opening the containers, but as shown in the pictures, the rolls were perfectly presented. Lastly, the rolls were tightly packed, ensuring they held together when picked up. If you're a fan of good sushi, I highly recommend giving Tengu a try. You won't be disappointed!"

"We have enjoyed The Standard Restaurant since it opened (sometime after the Bugaboo closed. The waitress was wonderful. She was helpful, personable, attentive but not hovering and her pacing was perfect! The Santa Fe Egg rolls were delicious, plentiful and came with a complimentary sauce. My wife enjoyed the Pete’s Special very much and was very impressed with the soup as well as the sandwich. Our family was celebrating our son’s birthday as well as his recent graduation from college (at his favorite restaurant. I was surprised that this was not even mentioned by anyone since I checked the appropriate boxes on the reservation form as well as in a message to the restaurant. I understand this can happen with messages not being forwarded. It has been awhile since I ordered the Crab cake BLT. It was the best in the area. Tonight’s CCBLT had much more filler, rather than crabmeat, than I remember. It used to be 90 percent crab meat. I believe that ratio has been reversed and the texture was not nearly as appealing. Although still tasty, with a warm-soft roll and generous amount of fries, honestly, it was disappointing. However, all the portion sizes were huge and each of us took food home. The Key lime martini is still the best in town! The prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and everyone was welcoming and polite!"

"Wonderful fresh veggies and warm entrees at the salad bar. Would consider that for a lunch or even a dinner meal in the future. Meats galore served by gauchos...loved the picanha cuts and the med. rare beef cuts, and even the lamb (that I like). Didn't try the bacon wrapped chicken, but my son did and said it was delicious. Our daughter-in-law who is Thai, prefers pork dishes but also enjoyed many of the meats, especially the prime short-rib beef. Along with some meats, my wife enjoyed several of the veggie salads and cold asparagus with sauce. Our son wife had gave us a TdB gift certificate, so we took them with us for a special treat on their 3rd Anniversary. . A little more pricey than we usually go out for, but overall great food and service. First time for all of us!"
