Our entrees—halibut and seared scallops—were fantastic! The service from our waitress and the hostess was excellent. We also ordered macaroni to take home for dinner the next night, and it was delicious. Plus, the sunset was absolutely stunning! If I had one suggestion, it would be to add a bit more lighting for the walk to our parking area after dark. Overall, it was a very special experience, and I’m so glad we had the chance to enjoy it.

NO Sunset for you ! This was listed as a Sunset Seating…Shades were pulled down and they didn’t pull them up until I asked someone and that was after the sun went down. Also the service was unacceptable for a highly rated restaurant, our bottle of wine did not come out until after the first course was served when it was scheduled to arrive with the first course.. Food was good , I had the halibut and my spouse had the Turkey. Very disappointing for a Thanksgiving dinner!

The food was good but expensive for what you received. They were out of most of the red wine by the glass selections. I get that it’s the end of the season, but for the price that is charged I would expect that you have what is on the menu or change the menu. There was a review from two days prior that said the same thing. The popover bread was touted at the beginning of the meal, but we didn’t receive it until the main course came out, and it was very undercooked in the center when it arrived. We often visit the Outer Banks and have enjoyed some fantastic meals during our trips. Our experience at Kimball’s Kitchen was pleasant, but I don’t feel the 4-star AAA rating is quite justified. The cocktails were excellent, and the food was good, but it came with a hefty price tag. I don't mind spending more for exceptional dining, but this experience didn’t quite meet my expectations. They were completely out of red wine—no Cabernet Sauvignon available? While I did enjoy a lovely Sancerre, I decided against ordering a steak due to the lack of red wine. Perhaps I just expected more from the experience.

What a miserable experience! My husband just died and so I found myself alone on Thanksgiving. I was treated like a pariah by the staff as if dining alone was somehow a crime. No one would take my order. People seated after me were looked after and chatted with while I was getting the side-eye and no service. I tipped them HUGE just to let them know how much they blew it. I hope they gave it to the kitchen staff bc the food was delish. But the people in the room had no heart for anyone left dining by themselves. Maybe next time you all will be kinder to people venturing out alone bc you don’t know their story. Don’t waste your money.

The ambiance and service were superb. It was a lovely Thanksgiving afternoon. We were seated at 1:30 pm. I had kale salad for course 1, turkey, dressing, and brussel sprouts for course 2, and creme Brulee for course 3. Reversing the order of comment, the creme Burlee was excellent. The turkey was processed, some sort of reconstituted loaf, rather than cuts from a directly cooked natural bird. It was okay but not up to my expectations for a Thanksgiving meal. The choice of kale for a salad is common for some years now, but I much prefer almost any lettuce combination.
