"My sister and I were shopping in the area and decided to stop here. Very cute place inside the pacific food hall where you can find other great Asian food and snacks. I was craving Japanese and something to keep me warm. I got a little more than that, I was warm and happy. Once you walk in, it's straight ahead to the right in its corner. We got there around 1pm so luckily there wasn't a lot of people. I bet it could get really loud in there. You order and pay first, and then find a seat. We opted to sit at a counter with bar stools. A pleasant surprise (not food related) was the purse hangers under the counter. Nice touch! We ordered the Unadon (Grilled Eel Rice Bowl). Grilled Eel with House Special Sauce, rice and thinly sliced egg. Also came with miso soup. We also ordered the Wagyu Beef sukiyaki don: with Tofu and Vegetables with House Special Soup, rice was on the side. And oh my goodness, both were so delicious and filling. The unagi was so flavorful, soft, sweet, and tangy. I mean, it was a perfect combination. It worked well with the rice and egg but I wished there was more seaweed (I know, it's not sushi). It still was perfect without it. The wagyu beef sukiyaki Don was the best warming soup. It hit the spot. I wasn't expecting it to be a soup but it was perfect. The flavor was amazing and it was not salty at all. I couldn't finish it all, so I took the rest home and I'm so excited to eat my leftovers. Luckily, they have other locations in the Bay Area and I can't wait to come back and try their curries! This is a great restaurant. Definitely recommend! It's so good!"

Pretty decent katsudon. Wish they included the miso soup though it cost an extra $3 :

Great food but if it's cold outside this place is COLD inside. Guess they are conserving but it's to COLD in there. Will save my return for warmer days.

We're so hungry at the time of the visit. The food was prepared very quickly, and everything was delicious! We had a good time, but if there's one thing to improve, the tempura could be better. Overall, great experience!

The portion of the katsu and rice bowl is quite generous. However, the steamed eggs make the crispy batter soggy, which takes away from the enjoyable aspects of the katsu. I would recommend trying a different dish. On a positive note, the cafeteria has a nice atmosphere for dining! View menu

Excellent menu for those looking for Donburi. Reminds me of Japan where they have a lot of this style of Japanese fast food. For $13.50, the katsu don was such a good deal, plentiful pork cutlets with a saucy egg over top. When you get take out, they serve the rice and pork cutlet separately. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. The food came out quick and they offer a self serve water dispenser.

This location is inside a food hall type venue. The seating withing Kokolo's area is small but the hall has plenty of seating. Food was good. I ordered the Sauce Chicken Katsudon with rice. The Katsu was great. Fried and the chicken breast was juicy. Not dried out which can be the case for some katsu. Which the meat to rice ratio was better. Could use some more sauce though. Overall would eat here again and try more of their menu!

My personal favorite is the curry beef bowl – it's packed with flavor and offers great portion sizes for the price. Every time I've ordered the katsu, it's always been crispy, so I'm not sure what the other reviews are referring to. It’s just a matter of common sense: when ordering crispy items, it's best to avoid pairing them with soggy ones. This is a fantastic spot for delivery or takeout; they package everything separately, ensuring that it stays crispy and well-ventilated, even during a 15-minute drive home. View menu

We have been coming in the area when the family does not know what to eat when we are out. Kokolo is in a food court area at the Pacific Pearl in Pleasanton. We love the food at KoKoLo, I usually order the Beef Sukiyaki or the noodles. Very tasty and good quality. My wife and kids order the other food which they also loved. There are a lot of Asian food options at the Pacific Pearl but, I certainly recommend to try it at least once if you are in the area.I give it a Four-Star rating as compared to its similar category of Food-Court food.

When our buzzer went off, we headed to pick up our order, only to be told that the tempura was still being prepared and would take longer. That was fine, so we returned to our table and began eating. About ten minutes later, a staff member approached us to ask if we had ordered the tempura. After confirming we did, he simply pointed us to the front to collect it ourselves. It would have been nice if someone had brought it to our table since we had already experienced a delay. Once we got the tempura, we wished we hadn't — the batter was awful, and there was an excessive amount of cheap oil, making it inedible. We also ordered chicken katsu, which turned out to be soggy, and we couldn't help...
