"Not as many options as big bakeries, but still great. It has a small storefront so it's hard to socially distance from other customers but the staff is nice and helps you fairly quickly. It's clean and they have some very cute treats. I got an adorable Red Velvet Cupcake and a delicous pecan tart. Their other buns and cakes also look very good and fresh. They give you your treats packaged up and even have branded bags that fit their packages well. They also have cute little toppers for their tarts. Overall, a good experience :"

05/16/21: This is my fiancé’s favorite Chinese bakery. He really enjoys the baked barbecue pork buns.

My mom used to take me here a lot after going to the Vietnamese grocery store across for their sesame balls and sugar bread. Good times. They have amazing fruit tarts, too!

A must-try spot near Agyle! I visited for the first time yesterday and absolutely fell in love with their curry chicken bun and coconut roll. I devoured a whole box of their fresh bread in no time… I’ll definitely be back to get more soon!

The croissants here are excellent—a delightful surprise! They could easily earn a solid five stars with just a bit more aromatic depth. Perhaps the quality of the butter could be enhanced as well. Overall, while the croissants aren’t perfect, they come very close. View menu

The food was absolutely amazing, especially the BBQ pork and sesame balls. The prices were fantastic, and I was excited to find gluten-free pastries available. When I mentioned my gluten-free dietary needs, the owner kindly offered me a free sticky rice to try, which was incredibly thoughtful!

My family and I have been buying baked goods from this bakery for ages lol. We 'd go shopping at Viet Hoa then cross the street and pick up some goodies here. We 've tried everything and frequently get their Puto rice cake, a variety of buns, and cookies my son loved when he was younger. This bakery is an infusion of French and Asian treats.

I've been coming here with my family since I was a kid. This is hands down my favorite bakery in the city, literally never had anything I didn't love from here. Highlights for me are the almond croissants (of course), cream buns, and any of their filled savory buns. It also doesn't hurt that the prices are much better than the high end bakeries in trendier parts of town at the same or better quality. View menu

Such a hole in the wall. I have been meaning to visit this spot for a while and glad I did. I got a bbq pork bun (5/5), ube bread (5/5), and an almond croissant (3/5). They do bread very well airy and chewy. I loved that the bbq pork bun had a ton of filling too. The almond croissant was disappointing as it lacked almond filling and quite dry. It was the most expensive item too $5. I would stick to the chinese pastries if you visit.

This bakery is really a hidden Gem!!! You can rely on them for any special occasion. What attracted me is their cakes are light and fluffy and not super sweet and use less sugar. The baker understands your needs and know what you are looking for. They do have picture catalog with lots of options but also are very creative if you want something new. The other bakery items are very good specially the croissants are very tasty. Parmesan cheesecake, creme Brulee and many other items. I recommend them :

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
