This restaurant is a hidden gem in West Virginia. The atmosphere is great! The bartender, Audra, recommended the UFO Himbeer Ale which was delicious. The $6 Burger Special was juicy, cooked perfectly, and exactly what we were looking for. A perfect 10 out of 10! This will be our new go-to spot!

My husband and I stopped here for a quick beer and it was so nice. The outside is quaint, secluded, and really interesting. During Covid you can't really sit inside, but you don't need to with the great beer garden. Someday I'd like to sit inside because it's such an old building it's got a lot of cool architecture. But still great during Covid. Although the plastic sheeting around the bar really makes it hard to hear the bartender. View menu

I drove my bike from Pittsburgh to DC four years ago and stumbled upon this historic restaurant on December 20, 2013. I loved it then, and I had an even better experience today during my visit to Harpers Ferry. I had a great conversation with the owner, who is an interesting and intelligent guy. Audra, the bartender, was also cool. I ordered a burger with egg and speck, and it was delicious. The back garden was one of my all-time favorites. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about the Mecklenberg Inn in Shepherdstown. It's a very cool place.

They have a good selection of local and other brews on tap, as well as cans and bottles available. The kitchen closes at 8pm, so be sure to arrive early. The inn supports local musicians, hosting open mic nights on Thursdays and featuring local bands on Saturdays. The outdoor garden is a beautiful space with mature trees, tables, swings, and even darts and shuffleboard available. the food is dope af! the pasta salad was incredible, perfectly boiled noodles, great spices, beautiful cut vegetables! the suppe roch so good when I went home, I couldn't help. I drank it in the lkw on the way to home porto sub was tasty worthy, as good as healthy, but also fat cash eating cheese steak on a soft bun-absofuckinglutely nailed it. veggie tablet is for dying! I bet this bean dip would be hot too! the burger was as always on the point (they always have it on the menu there and I order it frequently) love all about this meal and the bartender we picked up was so friendly too highly recommended, even if they are not vegan and I not only blow smoke to hype this place, they know that...
