"My wife and I took my 28 yr old son to Merchant for dinner. It was our first time there and we were very happy with our experience. The ambience was nice with a mostly 30-something crowd, the service was superior with the very friendly staff working their butts off, and the food was spectacular! We started off with an appetizer of Shishito peppers that were very different from the usual fare. They were quite tasty and had a nice spicy zing to them. My wife and son had burgers while I was a little more adventurous by going with the Brava Burrito. They loved their burgers saying at one point they may be the best they've ever had. My Burrito was not what I expected, it was actually better! It had a combination of eggs and potatoes with 2 delicious dipping sauces. We all left full and happy! Try it, you may just love it!"

The burgers are fantastic, but they really need to perfect the “cheese skirt” to take them to the next level of deliciousness.

Great brunch! Have been for dinner too and was really good. Cocktails were yummy and there were great selections for my kid too!

I took my daughter to lunch on a cold February day. Our server was friendly, made great suggestions, and made our lunch experience memorable. We enjoyed our food, we’ll be back.

I visited for brunch on Sunday, and the experience was fantastic. The food was delicious, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and there was a live band performing. I will definitely return! View menu

one of the best newer restaurants in the city! amazing for the brunch, as well as the Brunch menu has inventive kitchen. the chef always tries new, delicious, innovative dishes. the proven smashburger is sooo good and is a menu mainstay.

That was incredible! The Brussels sprouts were fantastic. The only dish we didn’t enjoy as much were the jalapeño poppers; they were mostly a fried cheese ball with just a small jalapeño inside. Aside from that, we loved everything else we ordered! They also have a wonderful selection of cocktails.

Loved this place!!! Amazing food, great service, and awesome atmosphere. We had the smash burger which had an amazing taste, loved the cheese on it. I had the burrito with chorizo, AMAZING and filling, definitely recommend. Remedy was an awesome server, very attentive, funny, and nice. Absolutely recommend. View menu

There wasn’t but two tables full when we walked in with reservations on a Saturday night. We were mostly ignored at first and once we did place our orders, it took quite awhile for the food to arrive. I had heard good things, but the menu was not very extensive and the food was just mediocre. I had hoped to be wowed.

Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and her suggestions were great. The jalapeño poppers were so decadently delicious I could have just eaten those! And the chicken and quinoa dish was very unique and tasty. I loved my old fashioned too. There were a lot of other things on the menu I look forward to returning to try!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
