"I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant and wish I could give it 0 stars. My friend and I had heard great things about it and decided to give it a try. We made reservations for dinner and arrived on time, only to find the doors locked and the lights still on, despite Google stating that the restaurant was open from 4pm-5pm. We checked their website and saw that they were supposed to open at 5pm on Jan. 4th, 2023. We decided to wait at Skybox to kill time. When we returned at 5:15pm, the restaurant was still closed and no one answered our calls from 4:15pm to 5:15pm. This was the second time the restaurant disappointed us due to their lack of responsiveness and failure to operate during their posted business hours. I can only imagine what the service would be like if they were actually open."

We ordered to go and it was great!! ?? The food had great flavor!! We had the fried Catfish and shrimp dinner and the fried Catfish and grits dinner. We plan to order again or go inside to eat!

Disappointed. Limited menu. Was told signature dish-shrimp n grits weren't available because they had no grits. Fried green tomatoes were tasteless and not breaded well. After hearing so many good reviews sadly my experience wasn't.

Absolutely delicious food and great drinks! Friendly service it took some time to get served seemed to be due to short staffing but the owner was very attentive between the event in the back room and the diners in the front.Definitely coming back.A must try! View menu

I visited this restaurant on 12/23 to celebrate our anniversary and my 25th birthday. I absolutely adored it! The food and drinks were incredible, and the restaurant had a calming atmosphere with nice music and setup. The customer service was outstanding as well. I will definitely be returning!

Would leave zero stars if I could. Waited 2 hours with a small group that has reservations weeks in advance. When we showed to our private dinner not a flame was lit. Nothing was prepped it was like they were shocked a group showed up. No chef or waiter came out to apologize. As a people we have to do better.

Nice place, kitchen sucks. Nice staff outside kitchen.. ordered several of the expensive (7) fried ribs and fish and grits. Got three orders one at a time. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. We would like to express how much we enjoyed our time visiting your establishment. Some of the children have never had a fine dining experience and most were not familiar with the proper ways to behave. Our time with you was amazing the food was great and the lessons the children learned were something they will take with them throughout life. The food at On the Bayou was absolutely delicious! The hospitality was awesome as well. My friends and I traveled from Toronto, Canada for a convention and decided to try out On the Bayou for a meal. We were impressed by the quality and taste of the food. The Catfish and grits were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We also tried the Seafood gumbo and the special Seafood poutine with crawfish and scallops, both of which were amazing. If you're in the Milwaukee area, I highly recommend visiting On The Bayou for an authentic taste of Creole/Cajun cuisine.
