"Karak Tea on point. Straight to the point. Fantastic. 1. Old reviews said the Karak tea was either too bitter, or way too sweet. Those reviews were about a year ago. I can 't speak for if it 's a QA issue, but I went for my first time and for me the tea was just perfectly lightly sweetened. 2. The Karak tea I tasted had a predominant cardamom (Laachi) flavor. For me, it paired perfectly with a sweet coffee bun with strawberries and bananas. Coffee Bun exceeded my expectations. It 's a great coffee bun. A little expensive, but a great taste if you 've never had coffee bun. I got it fresh, it was warm, soft and fluffy, fragrant coffee flavored, and crispy on the bottom!! I 'm usually someone who would only pay this much for a one time experience, or maybe come back to bring a friend...BUT I loved the freshness and quality so much I would come back with money to enjoy myself! Lentil Soup just what you would expect Chicken Shawarma wrap I really enjoyed the garlic sauce, and the way the chicken was cooked was really fresh tasting and seasoned great. Nothing special , or extra amazing. But again...that coffee bun was DELICIOUS. Way better than going to a place like Hanabusa, in my opinion, even though I know they are different food businesses."

Delicious buns! I visited Chicago and had the chance to try the buns at this restaurant. I really miss this place and highly recommend it!

The restaurant is average, but my experience was overshadowed by the Indian woman at the counter, who seemed disinterested and unmotivated. As a result, the customer service left much to be desired.

The karak chai and buns here are divine, insanely good!! We got the nutella one but honestly the fresh bun it self with the amazing chai is very good on its own!! We also had a shawarma wrap which wasnt really good, go here for the desserts and chai you won't be disappointed!!!

Stopped by here for a coffee bun since I haven't had one in forever. They were super fresh, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. It was just slightly sweet, but just sweet enough that it would pair so well with a warm beverage. Definitely recommend coming here if you want just a light on-the-go snack. View menu

It's good if you've never had any other PappaRoti- the buns are def not authentic. Decent copy but leaves you wishing you had the real deal. First time kadak chai tasted really watered down. Second time, I asked if the chai was fresh and he said yes it's always made fresh. Then after I ordered he came to tell me they were out of it (which doesn't make sense if it's made fresh). I was given a chai latte instead which was pretty much just warm milk.

Stopped by for a coffee bun and some tea and I'm glad I did! It definitely hit the spot! Signature Coffee Bun crisp and crunchy caramel coffee on the outside. Soft, fluffy and buttery on the inside. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and when I bit into the butteriness it made my mouth sing...like no joke Karak Tea aromatic spices and herbs combined with condensed milk, cardamom saffron. This accompanied the coffee bun so well and tasted delicious.

After trying the Nebraska location, I was really excited to try out the Chicago after moving here. However, I was disappointed to find out that they didn't serve the karak tea in the nice teapot and would not serve my tea in the teacups. Part of the enjoyment of coming to papparoti was the aesthetics, so I was disappointed when they said they they only serve in the paper ware. The coffee buns and chai overall were still tasty. But my experience overall was better in Nebraska I would say. View menu

I was just out for a walk, exasperated that most nearby chains didn't have a wrap with meat for less than fifteen bucks! Then I passed the lunch specials sign in pappa rotis window and decided to walk in a check it out. Oh my gosh!! There I got a succulent lamb kabob wrap with hot crispy fries for less than that with tax! Enough for leftovers for tomorrow. Place was clean, service excellent and I can't wait to come back for breakfast to get their specialty buns. Random lucky find. Hope they stay around.

This place is far better than its Yelp rating suggests! Beyond just the coffee rolls, they offer delicious shawarma wraps and salads. The rolls are soft and pleasantly sweet, just as you’d hope for from good Asian pastries. But the real revelation was the shawarma: I initially thought it would be dry chicken lacking in garlic, but I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken was juicy, perfectly spiced, and accompanied by just the right amount of garlic and pickles to make a great sandwich. The salad, although simple, was fresh and crisp without being overloaded with dressing. I would definitely return!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
