"I 've been coming to Pearl 's since it opened (I even praised the restaurant twice on my food and wine website) but tonight was my last visit. It has gone downhill, perhaps since the owner, Rebecca Charles, is rarely there. The service was so unfriendly I understand if there was a wait but nobody asked if we wanted drinks while we waited (and I don 't mean complimentary drinks, just something to purchase while we waited). There was virtually no other communication after we were assured of getting seats in about 20 minutes so after waiting nearly an hour, we finally left and ate just down the street at Palma which turned out to be fantastic food and service, beautiful atmosphere and a much better, welcoming vibe than the unfriendly one at Pearl."

I'm originally from maine, and the people ask me all the time what my favorite slumber role is in nyc. I still had to visit pearl oyster bar until recently, and can say without doubt that this is by far my favorite authentic Maine style hummer role in the city. can't wait to go back! View menu

I found Pearl Oyster Bar on the Michelin Guide and their menu looked really appealing. When I got there I received a warm welcome and then showed me their specials along with their menu. I wish I could of ordered everything. In the picture is a Pan Roasted Cod and this dish was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!Thank you for this amazing experience!!!

Came here while looking around the village, we had to queue but that was not a problem. It has a basic interior but that can't be said for the food and service, both of which were very good. As the title says, we enjoyed a great fish course accompanied by a couple of bottles of Chardonnay. The service could not be faulted and the hostess/manager was very sociable and friendly. Would highly recommend. View menu

My favorite restaurant in the city. I love the mussels in white wine sauce. I will not eat any other mussels unless they match the quality of the ones served here! The grilled fish option is amazing too. I had salmon once and another time skate. It is fresh and so well prepared!I also want to say that a secret about the place is that the desserts are just as well prepared as the fish. Such a plus at the end of the meal.

This is my favorite restaurant in the city and we come every year for my birthday and whenever guests who are visiting are here. We get the same every time fried oysters to start, lobster roll with shoestring fries for main and the butterscotch sundae for dessert with a few glasses of wine. DELICIOUS every single time the quality does not waiver, the staff are friendly but the place is usually packed but well worth the wait. We have tried other lobster rolls around and nothing compares to this.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
