"The Peninsula: A Gleaming Oasis of Luxury in the Windy CityAs I stepped into the elegant embrace of The Peninsula Hotel, the winds of the Windy City seemed to fade into a distant memory. Nestled in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, The Peninsula is not just another opulent lodging; it's a veritable oasis of luxury that promises to satiate even the most discerning traveler's palate.Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the lobby, a soaring space adorned with exquisite chandeliers, rich fabrics, and tasteful artwork. Warm greetings from impeccably dressed staff members added a personal touch to the already inviting atmosphere. It is in these subtle, human moments that The Peninsula distinguishes itself from other high-end hotels. My suite, a spacious haven of comfort and sophistication, offered a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline. The room's meticulous attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the plush bedding to the curated minibar. The marble bathroom, complete with a deep-soaking tub, was a welcome respite after a long day of exploring the city. The Peninsula's culinary offerings are no less impressive. The hotel's signature restaurant, Shanghai Terrace, delivers a stunning array of Cantonese and Shanghainese dishes, each meticulously crafted and presented with flair. The Peking duck, in particular, was a symphony of flavors that lingered long after my last bite. The casual yet refined atmosphere of The Lobby, an all-day dining venue, served as the perfect setting for a delightful afternoon tea.No review of The Peninsula would be complete without mentioning its world-class spa and fitness center. The facility, a tranquil sanctuary amidst the bustling city, offers an extensive menu of treatments, including traditional Asian therapies and cutting-edge beauty treatments. After an invigorating workout, the indoor pool and sun terrace provided the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The true strength of The Peninsula, however, lies not in its grand design or impressive amenities, but in the warm and attentive service that permeates every interaction. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely cared for by a staff that seemed to anticipate my every need. This level of personal attention, I believe, is the hallmark of a truly exceptional hotel. The Peninsula Hotel in Chicago is a gleaming beacon of hospitality, offering an unparalleled experience that defies the limitations of the written word. Whether you are visiting the Windy City for business or leisure, I wholeheartedly recommend indulging in the incomparable luxury and exceptional service that only The Peninsula can provide. It is, without a doubt, a stay you will not soon forget."

I had the weekend to kill in Chicago and stayed in the Peninsular. The Z Bar at the top was great. Excellent cocktails and the 4 way Duck for dinner was amazing. Ask for the bin end/bottle list to find some good niche wines. A visit to the Dali exhibition was only a 10 minute walk.

Beautiful hotel! First time here because we wanted a change from the other luxury hotel around corner. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was professional and attentive. Room was luxurious and food was delicious. There was not one flaw during our stay. Thank you Peninsula for a wonderful time!

Top notch as one would expect from any Peninsula hotel. Worth the splurge when in Chi town. I had a hard time deciding between the Langham and the Peninsula, but I'm so glad I ended up going with the Peninsula. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The staff are warm and welcoming. I love their specially curated lotion that is made specific for each city. During my stay, I had high tea which is a must at any Peninsula locations. If you're having breakfast at The Lobby or room service, I recommend the Pen edict for a little morning luxury. View menu

My husband and I and my sister all stayed at the Peninsula Hotel . This hotel is amazing. The rooms are pristine and comfortable. The dining was out of this world! We LOVED the Chinese Restaurant in the hotel. The food was perfect and the service wonderful. We also enjoyed a late meal in the lobby. We all had the Ahi Tuna appetizer and a salad before our main course. We were so full that we had to cancel our main meal orders! Everything was elegant, delicious and relaxed. We will stay there the next time we are in Chicago soon)! Our thank you’d to everyone working there. The Peninsula staff were all friendly and helpful!

It was the most horrible experience We had just landed from LAX and we were tired and hungry, while my husband was getting a room I went to the restaurant and they said they were fully booked. I could see multiple empty tables so I went to the concierge to inquire but he gave me the seats, “Pronto.” Few days later I needed laundry done but they said, we are closed for the week so once again I had to go through the concierge. At breakfast my husband wanted extra oats but they refused and we said we’ll pay for it but they weren’t ready to give any. I find the place unlike any other 5 star hotels their moto was “not available or can’t do it. “

We spent a week at the Peninsula for spring break. This was my first time to Chicago and this hotel did not disappoint. The restaurants were delicious and service was wonderful with everyone we came across. Everything about this place was understated lux, service felt genuine, and surprisingly unpretentious. It was, dare I say, near perfection. My only complaint was that the technology that controlled the rooms was a little limiting in what we could control, for instance zones of lighting versus individual fixtures. This posed a challenge when trying to get our daughter to sleep with dimmed lighting, and to balance enough light while we were still awake afterwards. Ultimately though, we made... View menu

The Peninsula never disappoints!! It has been several years since visiting Chicago, but the Peninsula is always a highlight to our Chicago visits. It is a foundational beacon of civility and consistency. I automatically feel more relaxed when I walk into its lobby. I believe the refurbishment is several years old, but it still looks new.One of the many standouts of this hotel is its focus on anticipating your needs. The ranges from the room layout to all of the staff. It seems like everything is always there when and where you need it (or more accurately want it). We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite on this trip, which was a new level of luxury, but even the standard rooms are...

I 'm giving this hotel 2 snaps in a circle. If you got that 90 's reference read on...This hotel is special in a world full of hospitality this one outshines them all. I swear they pipe soothing aromas throughout the hotel and rooms because it always smells like the softest jasmine. It 's always clean. Impeccably so. Small details to big they got 'em and they do them too notch. Every single time. Also a soak with their signature bath salts in their big soaker tubs are a huge YES (and I never like baths)The beds are comfy not as comfy as a JW. Marriott but a close second. The linens smell so good and feel like silk. The rooms are so well equipped with every single little thing you could want...

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
