"The staff acknowledged that I was waiting and inquired if I was ready to place my order. After I confirmed, I chose to leave instead. Eventually, I ordered a steak burrito, but it had only about half the amount of steak you'd find in a taco. My friend opted for the chicken burrito, which was mainly made up of tortilla and tomatoes. Both of our meals were $15 each. I would suggest finding a different place to eat."

The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is top-notch! My favorite dish is the Baja Monster Torta, and the 8 oz Jalapeño Queso is ideal for sharing.

The carnitas street tacos are absolutely fantastic! The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. They even included salsas with my order, and I will certainly continue ordering from here because the food is just that delicious! View menu

I visit this restaurant frequently. While there can be a short wait if you order in person, I really appreciate the option to place my order by phone ahead of time. They have all the classic Mexican dishes, plus their comically large burritos.

X4 Baja carnitas tacos were excellent at a good price. Messy to eat but everything was well prepared; fresh onion and cilantro, properly warmed tortillas, and crispy carnitas. Beans and guac salsa were unusual additions, to me, but paired well. Would def order again.

First of all this plate is VERY expensive. Now , this are not Chorizo Chilaquiles they have no chorizo. Eggs are sunny side up which in the picture they are scrambled. I hate egg yolk! No salsas delivered even though it was specified in the order also the extra guacamole was not included. DONT WASTE YOU MONEY. Iam a very unhappy customer. View menu

This food was extremely overpriced and TERRIBLE. If I could give him 0 stars, I would. I have rolled tacos myself, a very simple dish that might not be used up. Tested like freezer burned food, cold in some places, totally inedible. My wife got a burrito that was too small for his price and could not finish because she said it was rough. 0/5 will not eat here again.

The staff member made eye contact and asked if I wanted to place an order, but then walked away when I replied positively. I ended up getting a steak burrito, which only had about half a taco's worth of steak inside. My friend ordered the chicken burrito, which was mostly just tortilla and tomatoes. Both of our meals were $15 each. I recommend finding another restaurant.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
