"On the other hand, the chili bowl was a disappointment. Although it was a generous serving and looked appetizing, the flavor was off. The meat tasted old, as if it had been prepared weeks ago and left unsold. When the waitress asked me how the chili was, I mentioned the taste of the old meat, and she apologized, but I told her not to worry about it. I was surprised when she later came back to let me know that they had taken it off my bill. The atmosphere at Rock It Grill is reminiscent of a local dive bar, with friendly staff and customers who seem to know each other well. There are plenty of screens for sports fans to catch games, and they have karaoke every night. While I wouldn't recommend it for a date night, it’s definitely a fun spot for a casual gathering with friends."

Great food. Service is EXTREMELY hit or miss. Some days the service knocks it out of the park and is the reason I keep coming, others make me avoid this place like the plague. View menu

We visited on a Sunday to catch a football game and soak in a friendly bar vibe. However, there were only about five people in the entire place, including my friend and me. It certainly wasn't the lively sports bar experience we were expecting.

Brilliant terms of Musical Service. One of the most popular events in public community service. Greatest thing about is the DJ dose musical karaoke every evening abd in night time schedules. It doesn’t do daytime schedules. Although they should once in a while. View menu

I found this place to be just okay. I've been there twice, and it really felt like a scene primarily for a younger, rowdy crowd, which is fine, but it just wasn’t for me. I wasn't a fan of their selection of liquor. The security guy was friendly, though. Overall, it just didn't appeal to me. I knew it wasn't my vibe as soon as I walked in. However, I’ll give it a fair 6/10 because I think if I had been inebriated and the music had been right, I might have enjoyed myself. But as I said, everyone has their own tastes.

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."
