"If you are looking to explore culinary genius, try novel flavors, and bask in true culinary innovation that embodies the heart of Cleveland cuisine and that which makes the city a bona-fide food honeypot, then I would suggest taking an evening to visit Rood. In putting in the effort to traverse all that Rood has to offer from its inimitable pies to its thirst-quenching cocktails (that are far too easy to imbibe! to its fusion entrees, one will gain a truly unique food experience. Rood is a special establishment that provides excellent service and leaves one wanting more. Experience Rood."

Food is good but expensive. Not a place for dining. They rush you in and out as quickly as possible while paying prices for a more leisurely dining experience.

Very creative menu. They do some interesting twists on familiar dishes, like shrimp and grits. Nice bistro setting. Reasonable prices. We came because of the pies and we weren't disappointed.

Each of us ordered a different pie. The Chocolate Tahini Custard was good. So was the Dark Chocolate Black Raspberry. But MY favorite was the Brown Butter Apple Praline. A La Mode of course !!!Food: 5/5 View menu

This was my first time at Rood and I was very impressed. The vibe is cool, the service was great but the food! The food was amazing. The beef flavors were the right amount of flavor and heat. It was delicious. I'll definitely be back.Food: 5/5

Two incredible meals here, easily one of my personal favorite meals in Cleveland. Initially had the Elk Tenderloin then the Hog Snapper. Everything you will taste here has been thought out to pleasure your palate (pairing taste combos and textures is a work of art). Caesar salad is a must try, so light and unique. PB pie is out of this world, the bartender doesn’t suck either. View menu

So we had gone to Rood once before Covid, and hadn’t gone back because the food was just average. Last night, though, we decided to try it again since we knew the menu had changed and THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC. The current chef is incredibly talented and has put together a phenomenal menu of a caliber we haven’t often found in Cleveland. The drinks are creative and the pies are just freaking delicious. Five stars all the way.

"1 year update: My favorite restaurant, being a Lakewood local. Best joint around, hands down. The owner Vince Chere who will probably greet you are just amazing people. Come here, you won't regret it. Celiac safe too! Chere the one who took my order today and Vince, the owner, are AMAZING. I have Celiac disease so eating out can be hard and frustrating because not only my allergy to gluten but gluten free food that has been cross contaminated with food that does have gluten (shared surfaces, shared deep fryers, pans utensils et cetera) but NOT AT ZEST! Even though they are not a dedicated gluten free restaurant both Chere and Vince went out of their way to tell me what was safe (pretty much everything) and not only what was safe but how they were going to prepare it to make it safe, giving me peace of mind. I got the Pork Chop off the dinner menu and it was AMAZING! Zest is a small cozy place, bar, with great outdoor seating and a nice breakfast setting. Next time I'm trying breakfast and next dinner a GF Pizza. After this amazing first experience I'll be back again and again, probably tomorrow! If you're looking for well priced high quality food, Zest is it. Got celiac disease or on a GF diet? Zest is the best. Support this small business and enjoy some amazing food, service, and conversation. EDIT FOR SECOND MEAL EXPERIENCE Got the Buffalo Slider with truffle fries they used corn starch instead of flour just for my allergy, and fried in a separate pan. Amazing burger, HUGE too. Picture makes the burger look boring and fries look weird (mostly due to the cornstarch) but trust me that is the way it should look because it's the best GF buffalo burger I've ever had."
