"This is a beautiful restaurant. We were hoping to have a better experience for our party of 9 people. The food was good, some dishes better than others. The chicken enchiladas were pretty basic, $19 seems a bit high for what you get. My son's enchilada's suizas were average, he was not impressed. My pork in banana leaf was excellent, but a little fatty. The carne asada was nothing special, skirt steak is typically a cheap cut of meat yet they charged well over $20, I think around $26 or $28. We also asked for chips and salsa, 3 baskets for the table and that was $9. Our margaritas were huge, but could hardly taste the alcohol...a lot of ice and pretty watered down. $14 each. Our bill for 9 was $360 including tax and tip...so $40 each. Things I liked...the tortillas were great, shrimp tacos good, beans good, skinny enchiladas good, service good. Overall good, but not great. Won't be back, too many other better choices in town!"

Food was mediocre and portions were somewhat small. Overall, the meal was overpriced compared to other similar restaurants.

As always everything was great. We were there early so the noise level was low. When people started coming in it raised a tad,

We were seated immediately in a booth as requested. Great service and food. Had the Tacos Dorados and Cochinita Pibil, and both were excellent. Highly recommended.

We have dined at Sabor multiple times before and always enjoyed it. But this experience was way below average. Apparently the head chef is now in the New York location leaving Thousand Oaks with an extremely bland menu. Food was edible but nowhere near worth the price paid. Chips and salsa now cost $3 with a salsa refill costing $1.50! Plus our server took our order and never returned until dropping off the check. Very disappointed.

I’ve been a fan of Sabor for many years. In fact, it’s been my go-to in Thousand Oaks. However, not much has changed on the menu in that time, and the service was fair at best and poor at worst on the last time out. I’m definitely not pleased that they’ve started charging for chips and salsa. Apparently the rent went up necessitating the change, which I get, but program that into the menu. Don’t nickel and dime your patrons, especially with stale chips. If you’re going to charge, make them to order. Sadly, I’ll be looking for a new go-to. View menu

We have eaten ay Sabor on many occasions. They offer unique Mexican dishes, great presentation. Imagine our surprise to be charged for chips and salsa, a standard in all Mexican restaurants. This is a new charge and we were not told there was a charge, nor is it listed on menu along with other appetizers. Cost of dinner with margaritas was almost $200 for four of us. When spending that much for Mexican food, I would think that chips and salsa would be included. It is a small issue, but one that makes us think twice before returning when we live in an area with several choices of places to eat.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Our first visit in 2020 was a disappointment. We were seated in the bar which was great because the football playoffs were going on. However, no chips or salsa showed up and when we asked we were advised that since the first of the year they were only available for an extra charge. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charged extra for that standard fare, nor will I ever go back to a Mexican restaurant that wants to charge me for chips and salsa. We ordered our dinner, and quite honestly, the Street Tacos were not up to par. The pork was a bit dryer than usual. To be honest, the only really good part of our visit was the service...
