"Food was good, seasoned and cooked well. Presentation was appealing with the exception of being given an entree on a heavily chipped plate. When bringing this up to the server, he stated that "I got lucky and got a plate that has seem some things". Really? As someone in the industry, I am amazed that a plate like this passed the cook and the expo to get out to a customer. The plate was so worn I thought it might of been an intentional statement from the chef. What is confusing about St. Jack is I am not sure what it is trying to be, casual bistro? Upscale restaurant? Throughout the meal I was given mixed vibes with the food, price point, service and ambiance. If I were to return, I would sit at the bar and order small plates and a cocktail. The chicken mousse was on point!"

Absolutely stunning and creative French dining in an approachable but upscale environment.

Food was overpriced, portions were small, didn't have the first two wines we ordered, sweetbreads were almost unedible.

One of top restaurants in OR. Superb service, excellent food, gorgeous ambience. Paris in Portland. Don't miss: oysters, escargot, salad verte, bread butter, bavette with frites. View menu

The food at St Jack was amazing. From small plates to dessert I was blown away by everything I tried. Pretty pricey but I think the food was worth it. The service was upscale but kinda curt and cold. I don’t need a friendly conversation, but do appreciate a nice explanation when it comes to the size or style of certain dishes. Would come back.

Our waiter was phenomenal the staff made our anniversary feel very special. When we sat down, they brought out two glasses of bubbly for us, which was such a pleasant surprise The food drinks were divine. It was hard to decide what we wanted simply because everything on the menu seemed like a fantastic choice. I think my favorite dish of the night though was the escargot The patio was perfect even though it started to drizzle a little while we were outside, we were completely covered shielded from the elements We can’t wait to go back!

It was my wife’s birthday and got seated close to the windows which was great. It seemed like we’d have an intimate meal and time. Turns out a locksmith was there to fix the front door so the door was open letting in a stream of cold air. When we told the waitstaff they said, “He’ll be done soon,” and walked off. The guy came back three times to try and fix it during our meal. There were plenty of other tables at the time. The butter lettuce salad came with dirt in the butter lettuce. And for a bowl of mussels? That seemed steep. It was so loud we could barely hear ourselves View menu

Truly fantastic. Dining in the time of covid can be trying, but St. Jack was truly a great night. We requested the patio and it was very nice and had a heater that kept us warm. The service was super attentive, our waiter and a host of other folks including the host checked in with us and brought us food and drinks and kept the meal moving as whole. The food was unpretentious French but with a local Portland twist that made it interesting but also very delicious. There was not one aspect of our meal that disappointed. Overall found this spot welcoming with a great charm and genuinely delicious food and drinks. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, friendly, delicious French-ish meal.

Overall, the experience was good food was good, wine was good. Our waiter was cold towards us and gave the vibe that he was upset and definitely unhappy to be working. Definitely understand given the times, just don't like to be treated like I directly influenced his working conditions by dining out at the restaurant. I don't know what my friend and I could have done differently we were on time to our reservation, ordered efficiently, were polite the whole time, honored our time limit, and tipped well even though service was cold and supar. Probably will not be dining here again as the feeling that you are inconveniencing someone while eating out is not pleasant and dampens the special occas...

"Boxcar Pizza does creative all vegan pizza done Detroit style. I am from NY and had plenty of pizza there in the day before I was vegan. Pizza and NY are synonymous. I would love to check out Screamer's Pizza in NY next time I am there.I have only had Detroit Pizza one other time and happened to be vegan. It was alright when I had it then. I have been to Detroit where the talented rapper Eminem is from. Detroit is where the pinball like running back legend Detroit Lion Barry Sanders played. Detroit is where I was in awe when I saw the Diego Rivera murals there. Detroit isn't known for it's pizza yet lately Detroit pizza seems to be getting popular.Detroit Pizza is like a cross between Sicilian and Chicago deep dish yet comes in a square with four slices. Boxcar Pizza was named best vegan pizza this past year in Veg News magazine so had great expectations coming here. Boxcar Pizza delivered! I went with the Viktor Vaughn pizza. The pizza came with mozzarella, cheddar, kale, red onions, ricotta, mama lil's peppers, and pesto. I got it with a side of red sauce for dipping which I recommend. The pizza was very tasty. Plenty of flavor. It was a bit rich and filling for plenty of vegan cheese was used. Perhaps a touch less vegan cheese and other pizza pies with more veggies would be nice. I like that this pizza had plenty of veggies on it. I just got this and was able to eat it all. Each pizza serves one to two depending on your appetite. If you come with a friend or spouse might be good to split one and order a Kale Caesar salad to share.Viktor Vaughn is the real name of Dr. Doom who happens to be the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Comics. Viktor Vaughn is also a British rapper. There are many different kinds of pizza here and am so happy that a vegan pizza place delivers tasty vegan pizza. I hope they open up branches in other cities.Recommended!"
