"Portions were on the small side for the price, but everything was good. The exotic mushrooms were a disappointment...too much salt and looked mostly like portabella or button mushrooms to me. Service was on the slow side at the bar, not super attentive. Overall I'd go again, the rockfish entree was delicious. "try the vegan pupusa- it is huge and well worth the $5. that means there are not many more options for veg. we ordered for a family and got 4 vegan pupusa and 4 meatless tacos without cheese and while it was delicious, there was simply not much change. all maistortillas are made in the house so that everything tastes authentic"

"We visited Frix’s on Tuesday, right before dinner began for the evening. What an awesome gem! The restaurant itself felt upscale and clean, and the entrees we ordered were delicious. We’ve had a hard time finding a steakhouse with actual steak on the children’s menu, so this was a real treat for our daughter. Our first waitress had short brown hair and she didn’t really do a great job at checking on us. We sat without a drink refill for about 30 minutes until a new blonde waitress took over, and promptly took care of us. She was great. The creme brûlée I’d ordered for dessert didn’t have that iconic hard torched top so that was disappointing, but overall the food was excellent. After we paid our bill, I noticed that the first waitress charged us for a Michelob Ultra even though we didn’t order any alcohol. I don’t usually check the itemized receipt but I was curious about how much the desserts were since it was a verbal menu. We didn’t bother going through a refund process because we didn’t want to risk having $300 pending for several days until everything cleared correctly, versus the $150 that our check totaled with the error."

"We made reservations for an anniversary dinner. Ruth's Chris doesn't disappoint. Food was great, service was awesome and the ambiance was nice. This was a first visit to this location on LaCantera Parkway. Downside was my vehicle being broke into and ruining the rest of our evening plans. Signs said surveyed by camera - no necessarily true. The buildings are surveyed. Of course, not really the fault of Ruth's Chris but waiting an hour to report it since we live just outside SA was definitely a downer. Next time - UBER for sure."

"The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. We usually make reservations for 6-6:30. This time we had to make reservations for 7:45 to be able to eat inside. When we arrived, there was an issue with our reservation, and we were asked if we would like to eat outside. (no)Then we were offered a large table that was set for 7 people (we were a party of 2). We waited for a smaller table to open. We were enjoying our appetizer, the eggplant, when our entrees arrived. The entree was left on the table while we finished the appetizer. Then, in the middle of eating the entree we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We were then asked 2 more times, all before we had had a chance to finish our entrees. It was the first time we ever felt rushed, or had any issues, when dining at Amalfi. Maybe it was the late reservation? We love this restaurant, and will return, hopefully this was just a one time thing."
