"After paying, I drove home with my order and should have been cautious when I took out the sundae—it came in a plastic container that was hard to open. This was clearly not freshly scooped ice cream topped with warm caramel and fudge; it was obviously pre-packaged. Even though I noticed this, I decided to try it, despite knowing I could have gotten toppings at Tony's for much less than the $10 I paid for this single turtle sundae—yes, $10!
I first tasted the whipped cream, which was completely flavorless, so I pushed it aside. The ice cream, caramel, and fudge were all frozen solid, like a brick. Normally, hot fudge and caramel start melting the ice cream by the time you get home, but not this time! Everything remained rock hard, clearly having been stored pre-packaged in a freezer.
When I took a spoonful with the hardened caramel, I was disappointed by its gritty, waxy texture. I could feel this unpleasant waxiness on my lips, teeth, and tongue! Having been around long enough, I know this happens when sugary syrups age or are frozen too long. It was utterly disgusting, and I cannot recommend this place. This is what happens when businesses that have been around for a while lose interest in maintaining food quality."
