"Some locals recommend this place so we gave it a try. I had chopped brisket with the spicy sauce and my daughter had the tips with the spicy sauce. Both meals were very good and the sauce was great. In fact, I eat quite a bit of spicy food and am often disappointed with the spice level. Not here! The reason we couldn’t score a five, but should have considered a three… My daughter loves the renaissance events. She speaks often of the turkey legs that are sold. The Pig offered turkey legs so we purchased one to split as I’d never had one. It made me coin the term anti-taste. Simply put, one bite absorbed all the good my taste buds were experiencing from the brisket and left a dank, unsatisfying void. No amount of salt or sauce had an affect. It was not edible. Speaking of salt…there was no service outside the cashier who was lack luster at best. When I got up and asked for salt in an effort to season the leg and Mac Cheese, she told me the ONE shaker they had was on another customer’s table leaving it to me to find and retrieve."

Food was good. Service was ok. Ambiance was ok. My friend went there for a business lunch and told me about their experience. Said they wouldn't go back but that food was good. Ribs were more bone than meat but the brisket was juicy.

My first time eating here and I am impressed. Chopped BBQ, pulled pork, and sauces were excellent. Pork ribs had been in the warmer too long making them tough and dry. They tasted great, just not fresh. Wish that we could phone in orders or order online. Can only order in person at this time. Will return!!

Ribs were excellent falling off the bone. Brisket moist but lean and delicious. Sausage had great flavor too. Side dishes were good too. Baked beans had great flavoring with meat. The only thing lacking was no onions provided only pickles. You gotta havepickles and onions with bbq. Definitely coming back soon.

Amazing BBQ! My mom and I shared the Chopped Brisket plate, with cream corn and potato salad (mustard). I got an extra side of baked mac 'n cheese, and they were so delicious! Friendly service and as a connoisseur of BBQ I'm excited to say that the pork ribs were spot on! Sides were mac n cheese and cream corn, both very good and the peach cobbler was over the top. Go with an empty stomach, you'll def get what you pay for andwalk away stuffed. Looking forward to many more trips. Beautiful venue as well.

Awesome place! We are so happy to see Schertz main street developing with local businesses. The Purple Pig has amazing BBQ and the cream corn is to die for. My favorite meat is the chopped brisket, but everything is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Bonus tip: After you're done scarfing down some BBQ, there is a cool bar you can walk to next door called Hidden Grove. I love walkable areas
