"Came here to grab an early bite to eat before a night out. The place is funky and casual, yet sophisticated. The type of place where they have local artist's work for sale on the wall. There is reclaimed wood throughout, and I'm pretty sure the chairs are salvaged from a defunct high school.Toast does the menu via QR code scan on your phone, which some people don't like but I personally love. (I don't want to touch your scuzzy, infrequently wiped menu, tyvm). Our server was Laura (I think. If I got your name wrong, please forgive me) and she was terrific. We got simple sandwiches and frites, but they had interesting flavor combos and were made to perfection, with aiolis and sun-dried tomatoes such. It was a little early for wine, so we got pop. I'm not doing this place justice with this mediocre review; check the photos. Really great spot."

Outstanding service and food at this quaint little spot in the Shoreway neighborhood. Really enjoyed the brunch menu and solid coffee. Unique scratch made biscuits and sausage. Will be going back soon for dinner!

6 of 10 things we tried to order the food and drink menu were not available. We eat an app, drink water and leave what was not ideal when I was with an employee who was just in town for a few days. I had one of the cocktails and it was nice and delicious, made with a deft hand. It was disappointing that we couldn't stay. View menu

The price of the food is disproportionately high compared to the portion that you get, especially with several other restaurants in the area offering better options. Do not order the half portions unless you want a kids menu sized meal. The service was also slow, it took around 7-8 minutes for someone to even offer to take our drink order. In addition, the server never gave us any kind of napkin, whereas they were given to every other table around us. Overall quite disappointing, will not be coming back here.

We visited Toast for the first time on New Year 's Eve. I tried not to make much of the somewhat rude/cold greeting when we entered, but it sort of set the mood for the evening. My spouse and I both found the food to be overpriced and unmemorable, with half portions (winter pasta and butternut squash risotto) being really just a few bites not at all a perfect meal for one as the server suggested.
