"This restaurant, located within the Premier Athletic Club, provides a distinctive experience that allows for a smooth transition from an indoor atmosphere to a lively outdoor poolside setting during the summer months. The dining format is self-service, where guests place their orders at a window and pick them up when they are ready. We ordered smoothies earlier, but unfortunately, our three cups were left unattended, and we received no notification that they were prepared. Eventually, I had to ask if those cups were ours, and I had no way of knowing how long they had been sitting there since nobody informed us. This was quite disappointing, especially given that they still expect tips despite this level of service. To the staff at Valerio's restaurant: it's crucial to enhance your approach. In a self-service environment, tips should only be expected when satisfactory service is provided."

The service is incredibly poor. My friend's wings were incorrect, and it took 45 minutes to receive them!

The food was exceptional, and the portion sizes were generous. We sampled the chicken parmesan and the steak, both of which were incredibly delicious. The service was also excellent and prompt. The prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the large servings you get. View menu

I visit this wonderful restaurant several times a year, as it's the ideal spot for a delightful evening. I always try to go at least once a month. The food is outstanding, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the prices are quite fair. I genuinely love having a lovely dinner here.

"For this area, it is very good and it’s the only sushi option we have. I can’t stop laughing at all the people giving Hiro a bad review because it’s not as good as sushi in California or Washington or Japan no kidding! That’s like going to Japan and complaining about how bad the Mac n cheese is! Snarky foodies and those passing through or new to the area who don’t understand how difficult it is to get things here you don’t need to compare it to wherever you’re from or whatever you’re “used to” or “familiar with.”Montrose is completely land locked, 1000 miles from any ocean, rural, not on any major freeway, and has little variety as far as international cuisine of any type. There are 40,000 people in the entire county and it’s not really a hot spot for cultural diversity. Maybe it isn’t top notch for L.A., but for this area, it’s nice to have it!Everyone in my family likes going to Hiro, it’s usually our “special occasion” place. They have specialty rolls for holidays that are pretty fun to try. I always get rainbow roll and I haven’t had one I’d consider not good. I have had better sushi in big cities, it’s not the best sushi over ever had, but it’s also good. It is a bit pricy but, again, Montrose is not near a freeway and most of the roads going there are closed or really dangerous in winter (and non winter) months so imagine what it costs to get sushi supplies. I get the cost here. The owner isn’t the friendliest person, but he is not American and I’m pretty sure it’s a cultural thing. He isn’t rude, he’s just blunt and isn’t going to make small talk with you. The restaurant itself is small with an odd layout and usually cold, that is true. But we don’t mind because we get sushi! That’s a treat! If you’re from out of town, you should know you’re not getting fish that was caught this morning when you’re at 6000 feet elevation surrounded by mountains… so just pass on by and don’t disappoint yourself."
