"Once we were finally seated, everything was great. The issue we had was that even though we had made a reservation through Open Table for 5:30, we were not seated until after 6:00. There was a long line at the hostess desk, with everyone in front of us also having reservations. We only got seated around 6:10 because the groups in front of us gave up and left. I understand that things can happen and employees may call off, but I was disappointed with the lack of communication from the hostess. She never acknowledged the long wait, apologized, or offered a complimentary drink while we waited. There was no recognition that we had been waiting for 40 minutes with a reservation. However, once we were finally seated, our waitress was excellent and the burger and fries were delicious. I may give this restaurant another chance, but if there is another long wait, I will not return. There are too many other dining options in the area to choose from."

They don’t tell you this is essentially just the hotel’s lobby bar. Terribly disappointed

The restaurant was very busy and short-staffed, but the food was delicious. The location in the hotel lobby is convenient.

The V+F team did wonderfully hosting our private work event. Thank you! They have friendly staff and delicious food and drinks. It's a great place to visit.

I spent $26 on a disappointing cobb salad with chicken. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we had to wait over 45 minutes for our salad, sandwich, and wings. View menu

The restaurant is located right next to the lobby, resulting in cold drafts. Our group did not receive our meals all at once and we had to remind the staff three times about one missing meal.

They wouldn’t split the bill 3 ways with 6 of us. Had to be on 1 credit card which made for an awkward situation for 3 couples. This wasn’t explained to us until end of the evening. Plus they added a mandatory tip.

We visited this restaurant while attending a conference in Columbus. We were impressed with the menu options and quality of food. The service was slow which the staff owned and did everything they could to communicate with us when our food would be out it seemed communication among the staff was the biggest issue. We will definitely revisit our next time in town. View menu

They really should be transparent on Open Table that this is a hotel bar. It is not a free standing restaurant. The poor person working behind the bar was overwhelmed with really just a few customers, but just enough where someone helping him would be have been good. There were three other associates working behind the check in desk who did not have a clue in the world what was happening at the bar. Don't bother with this place unless you are desperate.

My experience at this restaurant was great. I visited before the Billy Joel concert at OSU stadium and made a reservation in advance due to expected crowds. The staff was polite and the food and drinks were enjoyable. The restaurant connects to the lobby of Sonestra hotel, which was quite chaotic with long lines of people checking in. Despite the noise and busyness, the restaurant staff (only 2 people on duty that day) did a fantastic job keeping things running smoothly. It must have been a challenging day for them!

"Food quality Service Ambiance Value Menu selection Location/Accessibility Overall experience Date visited: 11/11/2023 During a weekend excursion to the vibrant city of Columbus, I seized the opportunity to indulge my palate in the diverse and rich flavors of Indian cuisine at Aab India Restaurant. Accompanied by my dining companion, KK, our culinary escapade unfolded with the promise of an extraordinary dining experience. Arriving just before noon, we found the exterior of Aab India unassuming, a subtle facade that betrayed little of the culinary marvels concealed within. The challenge of parking, however, proved a minor detour on our quest for gastronomic bliss. Having secured a spot in the Big Lot parking lot down the street, we waited outside, eagerly anticipating the moment when the doors would swing open to reveal the warmth and aromatic allure that awaited us. As the clock struck 12, the portal to this culinary haven opened, and we eagerly sought refuge from the brisk autumn air. A gracious staff member ushered us to a neatly arranged table, allowing my companion to peruse the menu while I immersed myself in the restaurant's ambiance. The interior unfolded with systematic organization—tables optimized for space, a bar counter adorned with a curated collection hinting at a storied history, and at the far end, a buffet counter laden with an enticing array of Indian culinary treasures. The decor, an elegant fusion of warmth and antiquity, transported diners to a bygone era. With its antique-inspired ceiling, floor, and furnishings, Aab India exuded an authenticity that promised an immersive dining experience. The warm color palette and tantalizing aroma further heightened the anticipation, especially as I imagined the ambiance taking on a magical allure as daylight gave way to night. Choosing the all-you-can-eat buffet, we joined a queue that mirrored our eagerness to explore the Indian culinary landscape. Labels adorned each tray, providing glimpses into the myriad dishes that awaited us. My plate became a canvas for a symphony of flavors—a scoop of herbal basmati rice, curry that was a departure from the familiar Chicken Tikka Masala, naan bread, fresh vegetables, and a dessert whose uniqueness intrigued my senses. Returning to our table, the first bites were revelations. The curry, a choreography of spices, danced on my palate, and the naan bread, while exemplary on its own, ascended to sublime heights when dipped in the curry. KK, fully immersed in the experience, relished basmati rice, Chicken Tikka, and an assortment of vegetables with evident delight. In the midst of our culinary reverie, an attentive waitress graced our table, ensuring our glasses remained filled. A managerial or culinary presence, keen on enhancing our experience, paid a gracious visit, adding a personal touch to our culinary journey. Our senses satiated and the ambiance savored, we lingered a while before bidding adieu to the burgeoning crowd. Overwhelmed by the newfound popularity, we settled the bill, generously tipping for the delightful fare and attentive service—a mere $16 per person, a paltry sum for the culinary symphony we had indulged in. Overall, Aab India Restaurant emerges as an unparalleled gem in the culinary scene of Columbus. A haven for those seeking not just a meal but a gastronomic journey, it stands as a testament to the alluring wonders of Indian cuisine. As I departed, the promise echoed—an assurance that whenever Columbus beckons, Aab India will be my chosen sanctuary for an encore of extraordinary flavors and warm hospitality."
