"I visited the Herbivorous Butcher today with high expectations. I had never been there before, though I am a long-time fan of their sister shop, Herbie Butcher’s Fried Chicken. The Herbivorous Butcher has an excellent reputation, but I didn't know if their sandwiches could compete with other local well-regarded sandwich shops. This was before I tried the Italian sandwich! It was recommended to me by the friendly person working the counter, and I’m so glad I tried it. It was crunchy, chewy, savory, and a little sweet. I loved the garlic mayo and cherry pepper relish. The bread was soft and easy to eat. Sometimes sandwich shops have crispy bread that’s difficult to bite through, but this hoagie roll gave me no such trouble. The plant-based meats on the sandwich were so flavorful and chewy. I devoured my sandwich, and I can’t wait to bring my boyfriend here to try it. I want to try all the sandwiches on their menu now! The sandwich came with chips too, which is always nice. The shop is cute and fun. The food is amazing. Highly recommend a visit!"

"Walked up at 11:15 to a closed sign. Said they close at noon online and on the door so I poked my head in and asked. There were a few tables open but they were in fact closed and not letting anyone else in. I'm willing to give Roman's another shot because the food looked and smelled amazing when I walked in. But, if you're turning people away at 11, then change your business hours to reflect it."

"Everything about this place is amazing. I stopped in for an espresso to go, I never get flavored drinks, but after seeing their lattes I had to try one. It was so good I had to grab one for the wife and came back the next day for breakfast. The donut latte is unbelievable, it tastes exactly like a cake donut. They have my two favorite donuts on display, french crullers and old fashioned sour cream. I got the latter and it was the best sour cream donut I've ever had. We got their breakfast sandwiches and they were all perfect, classic flavors with a little extra to step it up a level. The decor of the place is beautiful, even the cups are attractive. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Minneapolis."

"Been meaning to try this place out for a while. The wife and I met up with a friend for dinner on a Friday night. We had a reservation for 6 PM but were running late. Called the restaurant to let them know and they were very accommodating. Good start and already a pleasant experience with their customer service.Once we got there, we were seated right away and the server came over with waters and helped us decide on some drinks. She was super friendly and courteous. Ordered a couple of drinks to get the evening started.The place has a old school casual vibe. Bar seating with a bunch of tables and booths that gives a classy vibe without being pretentious.We ordered the Piquillo Peppers for a snack and then ordered a bunch of appetizers. The peppers stuffed with goat cheese were excellent. The eggplant tostadas we also very good although a little on the oily side. The beets had a great balance of flavors between the creamy whipped feta and the serrano. The broccoli was the weakest of the apps I felt. It wasn't bad but not really standout either.For entrees, we shared the Steak Frites and Pollo al Carbon. Both of which were good. Even though a lot of places make Steak Frites or a similar dish, the béarnaise aioli and bordelaise chili sauce that came with this were what set it apart. Definitely would have that again and this would be something that would come to mind whenever I think of Steak Frites. The chicken was moist, cooked perfectly, boneless while retaining the shape of bone-in. The piri-piri sauce covering it had subtlety of flavor and enhanced the chicken in the best way. Definitely a delightful take on chicken.We finished off the meal by sharing a slice of the basque style cheesecake. Definitely a big enough of a piece to share between three people. I enjoyed the bitter basque style although it could have used a little more flavoring. The cream cheese overpowered the other flavors and even though the crumble helped, it wasn't enough.Overall, the service was great, most of the food was very good and the cocktails were enjoyable. I would go back for the peppers and the steak and give some of the other appetizers a try."

"We always hate leaving our dog at home when we go out, so we found a great place where we can bring him along! There’s plenty of parking right next to the restaurant, provided there's not a Farmer's Market happening. While it may not look like much from the outside, the interior and patio are quite charming! You do pay a small entry fee for each dog, which grants you full access to the facilities. The staff, both inside and outside, handle most of the cleaning and supervision while you enjoy your meal. The food and drinks exceeded our expectations! They offer a good selection of draft and canned drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, with plenty of local brews to choose from. The food is typical bar fare, but we really loved the fish tacos and the hot dog! The cheese curds were undoubtedly the highlight, and the harissa ketchup was a standout! We’re definitely planning to return!"

"We went here for our birthdays, and felt very spoiled. It was exciting to know what dish would be next. There were so many favorites that I wish I had more of. We had the fall menu, and loved the pasta, fish, bison, and their main desserts. Service was great and they were knowledgeable about all the dishes and ingredients. It's a tiny restaurant and pretty amazing they can cook all that amazing food in that small kitchen. We also enjoyed the front view of all the chefs preparing our food. If I had to say one bad thing about this place, then it was the birthday cake they served us. It was a nice gesture and it wasn’t expected, but they really didn’t have to (nor should’ve served it). The reason is because the cake tasted like a leftover cake that nobody wanted from Cub Foods. Hey, Cubs is my everyday bakery, but it was such a drastic difference/disappointment from the 5* meal we just got served. I wouldn’t serve that cake at all. We were happy without it. They also gave each of us a box of treats to take home. Other than the bday cake disappointment, we would definitely come here again for special occasions. "Excellent! Charlie was a really good waiter. Was friendly without overdoing it and was right there when needed. Started with the Masa Crisp which had some amazing guacamole and salsa. Next we moved onto the tempura shrimp taco which was so crunchy and tasty that I could of eaten another plate full. The jalapeños are fried like the shrimp and almost end up sweet. Next was the chicken Tinga which was my husband’s favorite. A little heat and tender chicken combine for a tasty tostada. We also tried the pork ribs in the tamarind sauce. These were good, but we both preferred the other items we had much better. The carrot purée was outstanding though. It was like eating carrot air. Last thing I wanted to mention are the drinks. Tried two the heartbreaker and the Dani and both were delicious. My husband had the five suns and really enjoyed that one also. The way the drinks are presented is really special also. Lastly at Charlie’s recommendation we tried the churros....OMG you must try these. Warm churro with homemade caramel and dulce de leche cream. So good!!!"

"I am beyond impressed with the food quality, taste, cleanliness, and price at Spice and Tonic. What an amazing experience! I can confidently say this is the best Indian restaurant I have ever dined at. My mom and I enjoyed the Veg Pakora, Chai, and Non-Veg Thali, and each dish was simply mind-blowing! Everything was fresh, delicious, and cooked with just the right amount of oil. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the attention to detail was evident in every bite. "Went with my vegan friend. I ordered the Francis double cheeseburger and she had the spicy chicken sandwich. The burger was good, but all the sauce/lettuce/cheese/tomato on one side made it a mess halfway through. The fries were among the worst I've had, which we both agreed on. I've been told by others that they're normally good. The burger was a 7/10 from a meat-eater prospective. The spicy chicken wasn't very spicy, was kinda dry, but good. From a vegan perspective, this place is probably a 7/10 or 8/10, from an omni prospective, I'd give it a 6.5. The fries killed it for me."

"We opted for the pork and beef combo, the chicken, and added pork to our spring rolls. The service was friendly, though a bit slow. Despite being the only patrons in the restaurant, it took around 15 to 20 minutes for us to receive a sandwich, a rice bowl, and an appetizer. However, the wait was well worth it. The portion sizes were generous and the flavors were delightful. I’ve honestly never tasted a spring roll as flavorful as theirs. Every ingredient was exceptionally fresh, and the fried pork strips inside were bursting with taste. My pork and beef rice bowl was essentially a delightful mix of banh mi ingredients piled over rice—absolutely mouthwatering. The pork wrap was equally impressive, though they are quite generous with the cilantro, so if it’s not to your liking, be sure to ask them to skip it. The prices are very reasonable, making it great value for the quality of food and friendly service. This place deserves five stars. We will definitely be returning with friends and family for more!"

"I really wanted to like this bistro since it is conveniently located and has lovely vibe. Unfortunately, the service and the food were not great. It took almost 30 minutes for someone to come back to my table after being seated. The guests seated after me received prompt service and even had their food boxed for them. I ordered the goat cheese toast, breakfast potatoes, and a macchiato. The toast was underwhelming. There was too much sesame and not enough jam to balance out the goat cheese. The potatoes were under seasoned and a bit mushy. The macchiato was great! It is a really cute space, but I wouldn’t recommend dining at Kruse."

For their price, the cocktails are much worse than other spots in Minneapolis which is surprising for a “Cocktail Bar”. "It had been a few years since we were in Zocalo, but it was as good as we remembered it to be. There were still some favorites on the menu, but also some new dishes, and they didn't disappoint. This is the only menu among many in Charlottesville that is really different and exciting. I had the duck breast cooked perfectly and accompanied by a great sauce, braised chard and an onion manchego bread pudding, and my wife loved her salmon. My starter, the tuna tartar, was too heavenly and had a healthy kick. Highly recommended!"

"Hubby and I ate here on 12/30 while in town for the Vikings game. We really liked the food and the service was great. We both had the prime rib sandwich. I also had the cheese curds which melted in my mouth! The only thing we didn’t like was the automatic 15% service charge to all checks and that doesn’t include the tip for the server!!! A simple lunch turned into a $100 meal. We didn’t have any alcoholic beverages either. I likely won’t go again but glad I experienced a Minnesota staple!"

Had to ask for water and 8:15 a boy brought us water and said he would send over a waitress. 8:30 still no waitress Got up and told the hostess to please send a waitress. 8 :40 still no one. Every waitress passed out table like we were not even there. I.was so upset that we got up and left the restaurant and went somewhere else.to eat. There were 4 of us and my son's birthday was totally ruined!!!!!. I have never in my life treated so poorly at a restaurant. I will be sure to tell my friends of the horrible service we received.
